Have no idea where to ask this and don't have access to Novice Channel anymore so I'll ask here.

Does this symbol -- https://bit.ly/3oiFGK6 --- on an item mean it is in use by a particular Gear Set (AKA Class) and if I take that item out of Armory and sell it I will end up with some Classes having empty gear slots? On the same note does that mean I can remove items from the Armory and sell them if they don't have that icon in the corner of the item image?

The symbol means it is indeed a piece of gear saved onto a Gear Set and getting rid of it will result in that gear set having a "missing piece". You will get a notice when a Gear Set is either missing a piece or has a change to it's meld or glamor, different from what was originally saved, when you activate that Gear Set.
If you have gear in your Armory Chest that doesn't have that symbol, then you can get rid of that piece without effecting any saved Gear Sets.

To add, if a gear item has a Blue X in the lower corners, it means it is an item that is not equipable by your current job, but you do have a job that can equip it.
An item with a Red X means you do not have a job that can use the piece.

Yes.

You can sell all gear not marked as unsellable. It will say if it is on the top of the item text box as well as in the lower left corner.
It being in a gear set is irrelevant to if you can sell it or not.
