What if this problem has already been resolved? The first picture in my sequence above:
Shows either a summoning or a victory pose. What are the odds it was post-sundered Azem that killed the parasite that caused the sound, under the direction of Hydaelyn, saving all the shards? Sorry, I'm just spitballing here.

The set painted on the walls west of Slitherbough (the ones I posed above) couldn't have been painted by anyone from the Ancients or Ronka because that would require them to have knowledge of Ardbert's adventures and victory over Shadowkeeper.
That painting was done by someone Ardbert actually knew, and all three paintings there are separated by thousands of years.

The Ronka discovered the first one and had the second commissioned to stand alongside it. The first painting there bears some similarity to the three in the Ravel, but given the professor's painting is also similar we can't really assume all four were painted by the same person.

6.0 will be interesting because we may end up finding out what the Sound is from and what was its purpose.

As of now I can only speculate the Towers all over the world is a means to create a fake Sound since the entire goal is to recreate the Final Days. That fake Sound, from what we have seen so far, is a means to temper people into being loyal to Garlemald.

If so, then what if the original Sound was a means to temper people into summoning Zodiark before Zodiark was summoned by some unknown organization/group and this entire time the Ascians were just puppets ignorant of the true worshippers of Zodiark?

Emet says that it was the Ancient's hubris that brought the sound and the final days. Although he doesn't clarify the details, that does suggest the Ancients did something wrong, then summoned Zodiark to fix it.

The Final Days encapsulates the entire end of the world, he doesn't specifically say they're at fault for the Sound but the Ancients are absolutely at fault for the Sundering.

I don't think it was meant as "they caused the sound". It seems more likely that such an advanced people wouldn't think a sound worth anything of significance, and in their hubris ignored it until it got out of hand. These were people who mostly let nature take it's natural course, as evident by one of the side stories; they probably didn't think a "minor" sound worth much thought.

I like helping people with their Job ideas, it's fun to help them visuallize and create the job they'd like to play most. Plus I make my own too, I'll post them eventually.

That is why I think the Sound is far more important than people may think. There is just something about it that maybe foreign but the characters and certain players are ignoring it as another "It was the Ancient's fault".

There is probably something more about the Sound that we are unaware that is beyond what we understand currently to a point we may have to wait until 6.0 to learn what it is.

Yes, I believe the Sound is very important. It is entirely possible that Azem was dealing with it/finding a way to deal with it and that's why they were not involved in Zodiark/Hydaelyn situation. What if Azem already found a solution for the Sound only to be sundered before they could fix it?

There's a set of logs in Academia Adynar that describe the development of the Sound. And how it "moved" from one location to another, driving Creation Magic crazy as it went. Amarot was just the last place it ended up. We also still have no idea what caused the Sound. And so far nothing links it back to Creaton Magic as a source of it. Just that Creaiton Magic going crazy was an effect.

The effect of the Sound itself is... interesting. In that it didn't make Creation Magic not work, but rather made it work too well. Instead of having to focus on creating anything, people would spontaneously make things they imagined... specifically things they were afraid of. And anyone with an imagination can see one thing and think of something more terrifying than it. So the Sound was a snowballing problem that... realistically... I don't know how it would be stopped.

The fact that it was moving around suggest there is maybe a source that was emitting the Sound. What that source is, we just have to wait and find out in 6.0 but if lucky they may start revealing a glimps of it in 5.5/5.55

The moving part is also important since it means the source was not teleporting by physically moving. This would mean the source of the sound had to start at a specific area of the world and made its way to Amarot as its final stop.

A way we may figure out what the source of the Sound is if we manage to at least find records of someone or something that is commonly seen in the area where the Sound started to grow louder during the Final Days.

If Azem had been looking for the source of the sound then it is logical that Azem may also have left records of what was found at each location where the Sound grew louder until it moved away to the next location. Things such as a common sighting of a specific thing or person, behaviors of people, common changes in the region where the Sound started to grow louder, and etc. We know while it was common for people living in Amarot to wear same clothing and mask, the people outside of Amarot may not have followed the same policy and wear different clothing.

Amarot was basically like a isolated Utopia after all and only those who can get in could live the peaceful life the 12 Ascians wanted so much to bring back.
