PLD IS NOT BROKEN

While I don't really think PLD is necessarily broken, it is less efficient in a lot of instances. It's really not that hard to run AV or CC with a PLD. My group does it in 18-20minutes with a WAR tank and I'm pretty sure putting a PLD in there would not change the finish time by much.

The scenarios provided often lack context. In a group of consistent players things are vastly different than PUGs. We can never forget that.

I do this with Paladin and find it easier than using WAR.

I'm 7/7 weapons and I find WAR to be much more effective.

I prefer PLD because that's been my main for ages and I don't have a problem with it in any fight.

Been there, done that! Coin Counter is dodging attacks and to get hit by 100 Tonze Swing and 100 Tonze Swipe is uneccessary. I play PLD with more than 4k HP so if a swipe somehow manages to hit me, I don't die!

LOLS!! please do not talk to me about comparisons between war and pld, i have been doing comparisons since the jobs came out. and it basicly breaks down to this :

WAR = offensive tank, deals massive damage and is capable of minor HP conservation and slightly higher HP regeneration.

PLD = Deffensive tank, allthough it dose very little damage, It can generate ample hate through simple vokes, combos, and aoe buffs/heals. Capable of deflecting a much larger percentage of damage then its WAR counterpart as well as puting out more reliable and constant heals it is a much safer tank. When operated to its full potential , PLD can reduce the amount of healers needed in a party in order to allow for DPS focused jobs.

overall, WAR adds speed where saftey isnt a concern, and PLD add saftey where survival is a concern. that and WAR dose have better crowd controll making it optimal for tanking adds (like in the princess fight, or skeles on batrall) or possable PL situations. Both tanks have their perks and down sides, but when it comes to overall survivability (wich in my opinion is #1 on the list of shit tanks should be able to do) PLD is undoubtly the best tank in the game. If you are dieing before a WAR , get out of the AF gear add some def and vit. if you have already done this , learn to use your abilities wiser. PLD is capable of deflecting 100% of any type of damage taken, keeping MP moderatly full and HP moderatly full. Ofcourse you will never deflect 100% of the damage, but if your abilities are used correctly and not just spamed when ever you get the opertunity to button mash it, then PLD take FAR less damage then war. Not sure why this fact is even up for debate.

If BLM could heal better than a WHM, WHM would be a broken class.
So when WAR can tank better than a PLD, why is the PLD not broken?
For anyone to claim, in most situations, that an average paladin can tank better than your average warrior they are just talking nonsense.
Let's reflect, and tell me, if a DoM that was ment for damage dealing could heal better than a DoM that was ment for healing, would it not be broken? I look at the PLD/WAR issue exactly the same.
