I agree, my cousin was perm banned from forums for some really weird reasons he doesn't care anymore because he uses reddit because he believes these forums are run by the FFXIV community not the GM's because anyone can report for any reason and action will be taken.

Some of the reasons for temp bans leading to perm.

Picture of Tron guy, Nintendo guy and Star War's guy from youtube ---- reason someone said he was making fun of mentally handicapped people he posted no such thing no comment either just a picture.
He said word Lazy but not directed at anyone
Gm told him to post on forums from game to get help someone went through his history 3 years back and got him banned for a 3 year old topic that should of been locked or erased by the GM who helped instead got him a temp he was mad about that even made a topic asking GM's why that happened.
Last and final one someone reported him for someone else's comment he quoted he went back about a year ago to ask GM's to look over his case they said no its final but went and found that topic GM's deleted his quote but kept the dudes comment what he got banned for up.
he got double banned for the word Lazy someone else's quote.

Funny thing is while he was getting these temp bans they were removing his SNK vs Capcom signature with characters fighting each other basically a gif pretty cool one every time he put it back on it was removed and he believes that maybe at the time they were in a law suit with snk and they took it out on him but they needed reasons to ban him it happened every single time he put back on that Signature.

I was at his house and I even read the emails he showed me they were pretty lame reasons to get perm banned.
Funny thing is he bumped into one of the guys on reddit who also reported him and he told him you reap what you sow.

In the end who cares moral though I do agree the ban system here is pretty messed up I hardly even post anymore because people tend to take things a bit to far when they get offended and I don't wanna be their target no drama no reason to attack.


My opinion other than his he's right, I see a lot of people saying same stuff all the time he used to say on forums without any repercussions but because certain people didn't know him they chose to report but if someone knew the poster in game let that person slide and its a group attack happened to me in a party group of people ganged up on me without me speaking one word I did my job.

Long time ago my cousin referred Zam forums a pool of sharks first sign of blood they swarm the user and if one of the sharks defended the person they were attacking it they'd turn on them as if they were cut in the process and ultimately killed zam forums because of it because the main users pushed out others who had stuff to say but because the ones who knew each other just decided their words were more important that they down rated them until their comment was deleted.

So yeah I do believe that some people do get banned for no reason and that some people do change and grow up and become better people and that they should have a second chance after a while to redeem themselves and if their second chance ends up not being good then that's where it would be the right choice to get rid of them but not 1 and done and go away forever that's a tad harsh especially if it's not warranted.
