Worst part about the modern times is the interchanged use of "suspension" and "ban".
Ban used to mean the permanent removal of service while a suspension was temporary.
When did this change? @_@

Players who get reported for verbal harassment should be muted not permamently banned... if i said something that was offensive mute me and chat ban me but why deny from playing the game that i am paying for ? i didnt do anything wrong in the game... i might have said something that was offensive minorly to someone specific but that deserves a chat ban or suspension ... but NOT A GAME BAN FOR LIFE... GMS and admins please read that^^^ and all of this thread
If someone gets banned for life, chances are they did something pretty bad. Probably multiple times.Players who get reported for verbal harassment should be muted not permamently banned... if i said something that was offensive mute me and chat ban me but why deny from playing the game that i am paying for ? i didnt do anything wrong in the game... i might have said something that was offensive minorly to someone specific but that deserves a chat ban or suspension ... but NOT A GAME BAN FOR LIFE... Frankly, unless it's actually harassment, a suspension (ban) should be punishment enough, in my opinion. By actual harassment, I mean actual harassment. A bad word isn't harassment, calling someone "dumb", or something along those lines isn't "harassment".. Sorry guys. An account strike is way too far.

I remember being told to turn-on my profanity filter in frontline once, it was hilarious. That's how some people can be in this game with harrassment. What they forget that it's just a front-end setting, what they wrote is logged.
Heck yeah! Instead of turning on my profanity filter, or ignoring somebody, I am content* knowing that when I hit the report button a GM will probably swoop in and ban them! Can't have that type in OUR community! We are better than that! The ToS is there for a reason!

the filter is there for a reason, for those that do not want to be exposed to that kind of language, even by accident. it is NOT there so that someone can curse up a storm and use it for an excuse.Heck yeah! as one game developer once said about profanity filters, they are there to stop accidental swearing, not to invite it wholesale any more than wearing a bullet proof vest okays people to shoot you.
Ah yes, just as I have repeated my same old sarcastic remark, it seems it has gotten what looks the the same old reply.the filter is there for a reason, for those that do not want to be exposed to that kind of language, even by accident. it is NOT there so that someone can curse up a storm and use it for an excuse.

Exactly! If someone doesn't want to be exposed to that kind of language (Lord help us), you know what they can do? Turn on the profanity filter! Wow! Then they can skip the whole "offended" routine, because they cannot see the bad words! BUT WAIT! That won't do! What if they want to be offended?! They would have to know exactly what was said, so they know EXACTLY how to be offended.. so why have the filter on?! Gotta write the GMs a nice little report, with a sob story about.. something or other, to get that person(s) banned!
It's not just that bad words should be discouraged, no, no. It's about RETRIBUTION! A tiny little slip equals a STRIKE on a person's account, just a couple* more and they are OUT! This community is set at a higher standard than others, we cannot have that kind of toxicity here! Only the most severe penalties will discourage this kind of behavior!

I'm of the mindset that if you have to ask, you already have your answer in this situation.
If you're having a moral dilemma over whether it's okay to say or do something, the answer is usually, "no."
Yep, which is why I never curse...in game. Well, outside of my small circle of friends. They don't care. But I save most of my cursing for outside of the game when people in the game are making...unwise decisions.I'm not afraid to chat in game, but chances are if the group is chatty and I've suddenly gone quiet...I'm probably at that point. If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all, as the saying goes.
