    Geomancer

Should he be the next healer ? He is already introduced in the game as the earthly counterpart to the astrologian and has his own lore in the astrologian quests, plus the game badly needs a new healer (and a new distance DPS and a full blue mage). Besides, according to some (reddit) the game needs a fix for healing in general.

    What do you think?

Despite being in the lore of the ast quests, Geomancers are not explicitly depicted as healers. The 4 lords questline shows far more offensively oriented geomancy leading it probably more in line for a caster.

People also seem set on chemist for the 4th healer which would be a nice change of pace.

I don't know how a Chemist from Final Fantasy Tactics and other FF games would be implemented but I welcome the job even more than Geomancer. All I firmly believe in, after what I've read and experienced, is that the game is in dire need of a healer.

    My two cents?

    Chemist better

Now how would a Chemist work? Would he improve the potency of potions (my idea, terrible idea) or have his own skills and spells? What would the aforementioned abilities be?

For some reason I always imagine a Chemist with a bazooka shooting bottles of potions at allies, or simply coming closer and smashing a bottle on their head :'D

Geomancer sounds interesting though, it was cool learning about geomancy during AST quests. If it ever comes, be it as a healer or a caster, that'd be pretty interesting class.

Ive always thought of chemist using a mudra style system with "Mix"

Each mix component would cost differing amounts of mana and could be added in different amounts for different effects, for example

    Potion=Cure 1 equivalent
    Potion+Hi-Essence= Cure 2 equivalent
    Potion+ Mega-Essence= Medica
Potion+Mega+Hi= Mana intensive big aoe heal
    Potion+turtle shell= Shield

    Ect...

Different components like turtle shell and holy water could have seperate cooldowns, as well as having some offence/buff oriented mix.

Geo sounds like it would be ripe with ground targeting AoEs... and I hate those things.
I want whatever will make the most people happy, but if they add Geo I imagine I'll give it a hard pass.

I replayed SB recently and I can say that they use the words geomancer and onmyouji interchangeably in some parts of the story. From what I understand, Geomancers work with the nature, creating barriers and the like. One notable one has also dabbled in crafting an object that can affect time. The more offensive geomancers are also called onmyoujis - and are said to be able to summon shikigami along with using forces of nature. Assuming SE gives more DPS tools to healers, I don't see an impossibility to geomancers being added, but I'm more likely to assume chemist will be added with the way chemist is teased in the MSQ.

Honestly, if we got no new classes next expansion and they just focused on retuning battle system; I wouldn't be mad. I wouldn't mind a new healer class though. Also they can make the classes into whatever they feel fits the lore. Drk was a dps class in 11. Ninja's where kinda Tanks in 11. They can easily adjust geo to be a healer if they wanted to.

We're in a dire need of improvements to the current healers, not a fourth healer. There are games that are fine with only 2 healing classes since those classes (or jobs here) are well designed - they have a certain challenge and complexity to them. I would rather not have 4 healing jobs that are bland and boring and essentially almost carbon copies of each other, I would rather have 3 jobs that have their own individual well thought out designs- if that means waiting several expansions for a 4th healer- I have no problem at all with it.
