    Hopes:
    - Some kind of major improvement in the game's code, for a large number of reasons that goes from responsivity to better encounter designs;
    - Not holding my breath for Blue Mages becoming a traditional job, but I'm hoping a lot that they get more love in what is considered their endgame content;
    - I don't think the character models need an overhaul, but I'm really expecting more customization options across the board, and improvements to the ones we have such as Au Ra horns detached from the faces;
    - Viera boys and Hrothgar girls. Also the improvements that we have countless threads about for them;
    - Summoner being overhauled to ditch Egis for good and work just with trances and Demi summons;
    - Scholar faeries, I don't expect the same fate, but something should be done with the responsitivity of the healing spells;
    - Beastmaster added as a Limited Job with an exclusive pet-based collecting and combat system, with tournaments;
    - Machinist having their 1-2-3 rotation visuals toned down. Now that we see them non-stop instead of procs, it's kind of exhausting;
    - Chemist/Apotechary as the new healer job;
    - Fix for the unhealthy housing situation and add a new vertical axis for furnishing. And Ishgard housing is almost a guarantee at this rate;
    - Ascians, Zodiark & Hydaelyn arc finale;

    Fears:
    - More job homogenization;
    - Ascians, Zodiark & Hydaelyn arc not ending and dragging for yet another expansion;

    I hope Viera will be able to wear the paid for haircuts from Mogstation.

    I also hope that Zenos and Fandaniel will be minor villains.

    Also Hope that Elezen will get a new model

    A New Healer Class would be awesome as well.

    Storywise I know they'll do good I've been pleased each expansion

    Also More Hildibrand.

    I fear that Zenos and Fandaniel will be the major big bads and that's too bad.Neithers really interesting.

    I also fear that nothing will be done with the Ascian Pashtarot.

    but i think Yoshida said that we would not finish the Zodiark & Hydaelyn arc in this expansion

    Hopes:
    - Missing genders for the new races
    - New palace of the death content that is more tuned to those of us who try to solo it
    - a great story
    - more slots for the inventory and the glamour dresser
    - new long time battle content that is fun on its own

    Fears
    - even less core content in exchange for something that will be death quite fast
    - something similar to the Diadem
    - another Ishgard that is nothing more than Rowena turn in with a huge boring grind
    - another relic quest where you are forced to do the "new" content.

    Biggest fear that probably will turn out that way:
    Zenos being the big bad for 6.0 or even 7.0, getting his battle by eating Zodiark...also having to see more about this weak Emet-Selch clone and his punshable face...turning the end boss into another one of those uninteresting pure evil villian fights that you know that you will win anyways..

    I think he was just vaguely saying 'The Zodiark/Hydaelyn arc did not reach its climax yet'. But he never really said when that climax will be as far as I can remember.
    I personally don't think it will end in 6.0. Maybe in 6.3....But, I can also see this whole story arc being put aside until 7.X to be honest... It is unlikely considering where the story seems to be going to, but who knows...


    Anways, more Hopes :
    - hard mode for single player instances (serving as a training ground before jumping into harder group content)
    - add Bozjan type Critical Engagements in the open world FATEs (bonus point if they add duels in each zone, even though they'd probably need to be easier due to the lack of OP abilities)
    - revamp the glamor system into an actual transmog system. I would be fine sacrificing a few patches worth of content for that
    - a limited job roulette that rewards allied seals daily or weekly (Using DF for the weekly blue mage stuff is not convenient enough IMO. I'd like to have this as a roulette when they add a second limited job....maybe in 5.5...)
    - having a Papalymo-ish cutscene in 5.5.
    - SMN is obviously getting a rework, so I hope they make that great fun and don't ruin it

    Fears :
    - the community dislikes some of the changes and gets very vocal about it, which is something that will inevitably happen...
    - Zenos and Fandaniel die without having their emotional moment like Elidibus/Emet-Selch did.

    Job changes/fixes so they are fun and unique again Healers getting to heal more, tanking requiring aggro management, Astro getting cards and time magic back, Sch getting fairy and dots back, whm getting procs, elements and self buffs again, drk getting branching combos less spam and some sustain with LD fixed, spam and ping dependancy removed from mch, bard getting songs back etc
    -Buffs and debuffs actually being strong enough to see without a parser

    -Return of cross class alongside role class to reward levelling alt jobs.

    -Glamour overhaul with enough plates for each job/class +1 more

    -Blu becoming either op solo job as advertised or an actual caster

    -Story is good with the WOL being proactive for once. Shoot the damn villain already instead of letting them throw a tantrum/endanger the bystanders.

    -Zenos/fandaniel get replaced by antagonists actually worthwhile and never come back

    -Texture, and character creation update

    -Instanced housing

    -Viera/hrothgar missing genders and hats added

    -Solo endgame duties as alternatives for getting savage tokens and ult glams for those without the RL situations to get them

    -Hall of the novice update and mandatory

    -Ilvl sync lowered in older duties to preserve the challenge

    -Antibot improvements and undercutting fixes

    -a minor general difficulty rise so players can't be braindead/afk/watching netflix during duties

    -Materia, fishing and dyes getting their own inventory

    -Dyes getting to be used as a colour wheel

    -Community reps to actually come onto these forums more often than once a year

    Fears

    -Latency and other server issues getting worse (whatever they did in 5.3 its made some isps connect worse to the servers)

    -Jobs dumbed down even more

    -No new healer

    -More content getting rushed or not playtested correctly

    -Casters/healers getting no glamours beyond robes or jackets AGAIN

    -Devs doubling down on their mistakes

    -Namitaro still requiring months to catch

    -Se not upping the budget or staff resulting in less resources for the game. (please stop SE, budget bringers is really showing the limits of what the current team can do in a limited time frame)

    Fears:
    Derpy batsh*** insane, boring, 1 dimensional villains à la Zenos and Fandaniel (Twilight Hammer anyone?)
    Even more healer DPS spells removed due to "moar focus on healing" but then not much more to heal.

    Nightmares:
    That they copy WoWs healing system in which you spamcast weak placebos and are dependent on CD based large heals, making me feel like a horribly weak character.
    That they attempt and botch a "character revamp" like Blizzard did.

    I have only fears and I fear “accessibility” as that’s the root of all of FF14 issues

    Healers need to heal more to be “accessible”

    Ranged can’t have complex rotations, they need to be “accessible”

    Trash pulls are supposed to be easy, it’s “accessible” content

    Tanks are scary...they need to be “accessible”

    Savage is getting too hard, we need to make them more “accessible”

    24 man shouldn’t be difficult and should be able to bounce back with very few party members, it’s “accessible” that way

    Relic quests are a chore, being “accessible” is best

    Dungeons don’t need to have many mechs and require more gates, to make it more “accessible” to new players....at lv80

    Overworld needs less mobs and more easy to dodge Aoes, players will be turned off by the lack of “accessibility” otherwise and quit

    Shinryu was way to hard, let’s make them more “accessible” with Hades. They seem to like it

    “Raids” are already reduced to trials anyways. let’s make them have less mechs for NM to make it more “accessible”

    Leveling sucks, road to 90 isn’t enough we need to make leveling more “accessible”
