In fact that's my personal complaint about the last two expansions. It feels like the content I care about has been getting more simplified and few in quantity in favor of all the glamour/housing or themepark stuff that I don't care much about. If I don't do savage or ultimate I'm not left with much to do once I max all jobs (which I did).
And I don't find the overworld that interesting to explore. ARR zones in spite of being small and restrictive had much more detail and secrets put onto them. When they started adding large zones, they have felt rather barren, and most hamlets feel more like props than they used to. Shadowbringers areas and Yanxia are great to look at but not great to wander through. Not helped by the fact monsters seem to be more haphazardly spread and all of them are aggressive.
According to some people, it seems any sort of criticism of this game - especially if it has to do with the story - means "this game isn't for you". There is plenty of other content besides the story, that can satisfy a player.

I do agree however, there isn't enough PvE content in general. I wish this game had more to do in that area. I'm speaking broadly, not necessarily raids or whatever. Frankly, I don't think we get enough proper glamour, or cosmetics to strive for actually. Housing is nothing to me, I will never be able to afford one. Same with ultimate or savage, I don't do that. I wish their seasonal events would stop offloading so much decor, and offer other things (not the "5, 4, 3, 2, 1" sparkler things either)
