There are many things I love about this game right now, but almost all of them I have something or another to add that could be a huge improvement.
The thing in XIV that I'm completely happy with and have nothing to add is the storyline.

I typed up all kind of stuff, and then when trying to make it more concise and to the point, boiled down to: It's an internet forum. Kind of like roulettes in-game: You have to be willing to roll with the punches if you want to participate.I want to ask a serious question:
I see a lot of threads about housing, dungeons, trust, races, classes, story, MSQ - so on and so forth.
Some have actual good content and others are obvious troll threads.
But I have one question:
What's one thing you can actually say you are happy about in this game.
WITHOUT A BUT (ie, I love this aspect ... but ...) - none of that.
I really wanna know. It seems like the forums have fallen into a system of "complain and moan" - especially during a pandemic and at Christmas time.
I personally Love the story. I love how the latest expansion was a movie you got to play in (in other words the amount of cut scenes and length)
Anywho. Wanna know something I really enjoyed recently? Like really, REALLY enjoyed? I actually only just recently did the Sapphire weapon portion of the questline, and I got so freakin giddy after the reveal, the cutscenes, and everything else involved. It shot me back to the kind of excitement you feel being surprised with a gift you weren't expecting at all as a child that just topples everything. You're just like, "WHUUUUUT!!!??? NO EFFIN WAY!!"
When the devs are capable of bringing this out of even one person, especially during a year like this one; it shuts out all of the negativity. I feel extremely fortunate know how that felt as a child, and to even be able to express that enjoyment here.

So. Much. This.
While I find that most of the individual elements of the game have their hits and misses (though mostly hits), I just love that FF14 doesn't need to be a second job for me. I can stay as current as I want or even take breaks where I barely play the game at all and I don't feel actively punished for doing so. Yet, when times come around where I do find myself playing more, there's always some bit of content I can find to engage with.

The story -- Flying in ARR! -- Exploration dungeons and future of more with hope they'll also increase or do away with the time limit for some srs RP sessions -- Enjoying that I am still finding new things to collect -- Ocean fishing (need to go back to get that title one of these days) -- Friends I've made -- Seasonal events -- G'raha -- Raiding mechanics have been fun -- Really enjoy both the challenge and fun of Emerald Weapon Savage for the most part -- VIOLINS!! -- and that's barely the tip of the icebergI want to ask a serious question:

I'm one of the people who come here to complain as well. As many do. But I'm sure every single one of us have plenty more we appreciate. Our complaints here do not reflect the percentage of satisfaction/dissatisfaction. If we didn't love the game; we wouldn't even bother to gripe about the things that bother us so we hope it gets looked at.
I've been MMOing since 1999 and forums are exactly the same in ways a lot congregate to vent or broadly lay out their grievances and hopefully criticize the not-so-great aspects of the game in a respectful manner. Once you've been around as long as I have; you'll not bat an eye or see a need for such threads like this as much as they seem they want to promote the good feels.. But so long as they are done with a good intention and not at all in a way to detract and invalidate people's issues that they bring to these forums, then, sure..let's make a list of all the things that make us login on the daily.

Exactly. You see the occasional trolls, but for most of us the complaints are feedback. We love the game and want to see it continue to improve.
For me, the biggest difference between FF14 and something I used to play, like WoW, is I'm here on the FF14 forums grumbling and giving feedback while happily paying a sub and no intention of going anywhere, but you won't see a hint of a complaint from me on any Blizzard forum anymore. This is because I gave up on them entirely. They'll never have me as a customer again.
A reasonable number of constructive complaints is actually a healthy sign in a game. It's the games where numbers are dropping and occasional complaints are attacked with "deal with it or leave" that are in dire straits. This is when players actually have silently "left if they don't like it" and all you have left are the small handful of bitter trolls who cling to the only thing they know. Quite a few games fall into this state.
But anyway, on positive things I enjoy, there's too many to list really. Great story and music, enjoyable raids, the game looks good, still a far better craft/gather system than many games even despite the changes and low-rng consistency on gearing. There's plenty to tweak, address and improve but overall it's a solid, fun game to play with a good development team.

I love pretty much the entire game, even pieces of content I don't do. I also love being a Roegadyn.

The crafting system is worlds better than any MMO.
If they deleted the entire system the had in 1.0 for a point an click system like every other MMO I wouldnt be here. Not everything thing 1.0 was bad. Not even by a long shot.
The ability to play every class on a single character.
Those 2 things keep me here over FFXI. XI has the ability to play every class on a single character too, but you have to go to the mog house or a moogle to change classes, and the crafting isnt very fun there.

I love how the quests pull me in. I love how my emotions are on such a roller coaster. I love I cried a few times. And I love the character development going on.
I love my fat cat mount.~

I love my bunbun. She's my favorite part of this game.
Second favorite is the music. Soken made me cry a lot.
I also like the combat system, the spell effects, the crafting system, the art in general, the glamours, my little amaro.
