    Problem with shukuchi

Hi, i wanted to share my problems with the move Shukuchi in pvp, i know that probably i am the One to Blame about It but i wanted to see if somebody could give me some advice, and if i am not the only One having these issues:

    1) it seems i have a general problem with moves that target the ground, like the healer Bubbles or the dps area moves of drk and nin. I have to press the mouse button like 4-5 times before the game register the move. In pve i have some target macros that have me covered for the moves mentioned above, but Shukuchi cant be in a target macro, so i have to Do It manually. For me It would be perfect if It could work Simply like dancer\\\\\\\\'s En Avant.
I have some teories. Maybe It does not work because my character Is moving? Or because i am moving the mouse?

    2) this Is a personal issue for wich i Just Ask an advice. I dont Remember the exactly range of Shukuchi now, lets Say It Is 15 yalm. If i am in a fight and have to go out of sh*t really fast, It Is difficult for me to calculate by EYE how long are 15 yalms so often i start targeting too far, with the circulat target that Is blu, and have to go closer till It becomes Orange, losing PRECIOUS time.

I have to Say that the First problem Is not caused by the second One, i am sure of It, i have made many tries, they are different problems (i mean that the First One happens even if i target very close, like to gain armor).
As i Said, for me both would be fixed if Shukuchi would Just be a move that teleports you forward of a fixed amount of space and i know that would limit its uses, because now you can CHOOSE where to go, but since It causes these issues i would gladly change It.

I really like ninja as a class in pvp, It gives me the balance i like in DMG, def and trickness, so i would prefer to\\\\\\\\' not change class.

I would not talk about Fetter Ward, a move that i love/Hate (that because of server ticks It leaves you not protected for 1-3 sec) but if somebody want to talk about that too i\\\\\\\\'ll gladly join, even if i think that nothing can be done about that.

    Thanks
    Garten

    Shukuchi works in target macros.

Sure, and what about if the target is too far or if i wanna use Sukuchi to ran away (so without target)? (edit: i can already tell you it does not work)
Isn't there a way to create a macro that "transform" shukuchi in "target the ground 20 yalms in front of me"?

it seems so easy in theory T_T

Just going to say that yeah ground targeting stuff in FFXIV just feels bad. It doesn't work like games with good controls do, clamping the reticle in range or putting you as far as it can if you click out of reach. 1200~ FL matches, hundreds of RW or Feast matches, it hasn't felt any better. It feels finicky at best and unresponsive at worst. Like with the SAM's Soten, you unfortunately just kind of learn to make it function as best as you can within the confines of the terrible controls versus having some kind of secret about it. The above advice is not going to avail you.

Set up two buttons. One with macro (/pvpac "Shukuchi" <t>) and Shukuchi without the macro.

Use the Shukuchi macro when you want to close the gap to a target you want to attack.
Use Shukuchi without macro to escape.

What Esmoire said... Shukuchi is point-and-click dependent (on the ground), so it will take practice and experience to use. If you already developed this skill in PvE, then you're good-to-go.

Unfortunately, there is no macro (to my knowledge) for distance when using gap closers... just have to practice manually point-and-click Shukuchi ahead of a target running away or behind a target to give you better positioning.

Target too far, best solution is to Shukuchi toward it then run. lol XD But watch your positioning if you do something like this, and gauge whether-or-not it's worth chasing for a kill. Chances are you might run into the enemy team, and without a Shukuchi available, it will be painful. LOL

Also, there's a PvP community Discord with guides on NIN (PvPaissa). I recommend looking at it. Anyway, hope this helps. ^_^

Thanks for the infos, i think i'll do as you suggest and keep the 2 modes (the macroed one and the not macroed one).
