All world is facing the same issue.
Ul'dah as become Jeuno II.
All other cities are ghost town with almost empty Market Ward.
What will SE do about it?
What kind of approche the should take?

This is something every single MMORPG has to deal with. To only way to deal with it is to combine the market wards.
1)You have to be able to search all the market wards worldwide.
2)You have to be able to buy any item from anywhere without having to locate the actual retainer.
There is no other option to fix it at the moment.
However I think when the other city opens up it will become to real Jeuno, so we shouldn't worry too much about it.

This is my signature. There are many like it, but this one is mine.
i am not sure if its only the market ward problem...
You see in Uldah there are the mines... and those are the best solo/duo/trio grinding spots...
also when i am in Uldah i feel like its way less annoying to leave the city by foot than in LL,
Uldah is also most conveniently located between the other 2.
To fix that you would need address the other things as well.

Also the story line takes you to ul'dah. Much like it did in ffxi with jeuno. Once i can play the game (either pc fixed or ps3 launch) (hoping for pc fix so i can play sooner, owning the game and not being able to play it sucks so much) I was gonna start in gridania. Just my character was going to have a Fire theme. So unsure if I should start in ul'dah instead. Pretty much ima lvl my mage nuking class to unlock the fire based spells and use them on my other classes. i'm a bit of a pyro in mmorpg/ rpg. Like in fable 3 i mainly use fire + magic sword (magic blades are casted and fly to you target) :3
Once Ishgard comes out, everybody will practically be there as opposed to the 3 starting cities.

Yea I believe so also. I just hope they don't make the starting cities feel like ghost towns. There should be some reason to go back.
Also, they need to link the MW wards. I like them better than an AH but they need improvement. Just have some npc that makes a list pop up. Then you can instantly buy it from any other cities retainers. Hell they can even add a slight fee from not directly buying the item from a retainer.

There are already arguments against teleporting promoting laziness. You could technically 'teleport' to the city and run to their ward. I agree to a search feature for all cities as an option, but not a 'buy from search menu' (at least as it pertains to other regions market wards)Yea I believe so also. In ffxi, the auctions were broken up by regions. If you were out in Kazham, you were linked to the Windy auction, but you couldn't buy from jeuno sandy or bastok. I thought it was much more fair. It gave reason to go to certain cities because things were priced different in different regions, and different materials were available according to their home regions as well.
