Possible 'official' hint to the role of the new jobs added in 6.0?

There's a tweet I saw on an official Square Enix Twitter page that was showing off FF14 action battle icon pins.



In here, we see job actions lined up in a particular way:

Tank
PLD WAR DRK GNB

Melee DPS
MNK DRG NIN SAM

Magic Ranged DPS
BLM SMN RDM BLU

Physical Ranged DPS
BRD MCH DNC ???

Healer
WHM SCH AST ???

It looks too intentional seeing two ??? icons labeled as 'Secret' and vertically lined up to a particular role rather than being lined up horizontally at the end or just removed from the picture overall. This leads me to believe that there is a relationship between this picture and the next expansion jobs.

Initially I was thinking that one of the next job would be Necromancer as a magic ranged DPS since I didn't count Blue Mage as an actual job (even though I love that job) but seeing this is making me think otherwise.

I, and many others, expect one of the next job in 6.0 to be a healer since it's been a long time so this should come as no surprise. If anything, it's a feeling of relief knowing that Square Enix didn't drop the ball on this one.

If what we're getting is a physical ranged DPS and a healer then my guess would be Sky Pirate/Corsair as the DPS and either Medic or Time Mage as the healer.

If I were a bettin' man, I'd bet that the final "?" in the healer lineup will be Chemist. As to what another physical ranged would be (provided it's a physical ranged job at all) I have no idea. Personally, I thought we were a bit overdue for another magical ranged job. I wouldn't rule Beastmaster out either, though that seemed more like a physical melee job. Normally we'd have a hint or 2 to work with right now through Fanfest but that obviously hasn't happened this year. Maybe this is their way of giving us something to speculate given the current circumstances.

It's possible, but it's also a logical way to line up the jobs as they currently exist without taking the future ones into account.

Also if they are indeed planning to add another physical ranged job, they really need to re-evaluate the aiming/scouting gear split.

I'd still like to see Scouting and Maiming just rolled into Aiming and Striking. It'd save bag space for those of us who level everything anyway, and it'd mean two less gear sets needing to be designed for each level going forward.

I'd still like to see Scouting and Maiming just rolled into Aiming and Striking. It'd save bag space for those of us who level everything anyway, and it'd mean two less gear sets needing to be designed for each level going forward.

I do get the impression that BLU will eventually be made into a real job. Perhaps the best way of achieving that in this stage is by unlimiting the job past level 70 with the criteria of a completed spell book.

I'm guessing they might have included it just so people couldn't confirm or rule out new limited jobs. A speculative player base can be an excited one. And they want that leading up to an expansion launch announcement. SE tends to keep their best cards held close until the time is right.

Perhaps the next jobs are a combo of the 3?
For ranged DPS it’s a singing dancing machine or a karaoke machine. The healers is a space fairy wizard. One of those two is the correct answer, I’m not sure which one though.

But it's there because it + two secrets = a nice 4x5 box.
Without it there'd be a janky empty space.
