35 days before demolish is not okay.

I've bought a house in pandemic, without knowing that the demolish condition is 35 days of inactivity.

I don't think this is fair in any way, the period of inactivity is far way too small, there should be at least 6 months or at best a year. The game basically forces me to play every month out of scare I will lose items I bought with gil and real money, items I worked hard for.

I understand there is a plot problem, but that should be simply solved with making more plots, not demolishing after a month of inactivity the houses of the players. The player base is not infinite, even at this hour there are servers which don't have all of their plots occupied, which means that increasing a little bit the number of wards should solve the problem.

Now I know you will act like all knowing and you will come at me and tell me, "but it's not fair, me a player who is active everyday, I can't buy a house over someone who's been inactive for months blah blah blah...".
But listen to me, it's not my fault I finished all the content in the game/patch whatever and I'm waiting for new content to play again, it is not my concern you are a new player or you just do RP everyday and don't bother with the content of the game at all. I should not get my house demolished and everything in it lost because you are more active than me.
And another fault of this game, you cant even give back the items the player lost, which is very very low, you could simply send them via mail, or have an npc that stores them, then I wouldn't even be this mad, but we don't even have such thing.

    As for a summary:
-Please increase the numbers of months before your house gets demolished,
-Add a few more wards so this problem of people not being able to buy houses will vanish
-Please and the most important one, if you do not want to consider any of the above, make it so the player doesn't lose his belongings. Make an NPC specifically for the losses of a house that will store every thing you had in it.

-Please increase the numbers of months before your house gets demolished > so the players that actually play the game will live in a ghost town thus loosing 50% of what housing is for? No thanks. FYI the 50% is social interaction. Normal wards are already almost empty with the current timer.

-Add a few more wards so this problem of people not being able to buy houses will vanish > It's far more complicated than that. Server/memory problems, see one of the 2000 threads open in the forum about this very topic. SE adds new wards from time to time but it's not suffisant in the eye of everyone.

-Please and the most important one, if you do not want to consider any of the above, make it so the player doesn't lose his belongings. Make an NPC specifically for the losses of a house that will store every thing you had in it. > That's already implemented. When your house is demolished, almost every item in the plot is transferred to a NPC and you're able to retrieve them from him.

It's not 35 days it's 45 days and to keep it the owner must enter the house to deactivate/reset the timer.

It takes less than five minutes to log in, enter your house and log out again. That's all it takes to keep it from being demolished. If you can't spend five minutes per month to keep your house active, then perhaps you don't care about it all that much. If you're afraid of forgetting, put it on your calendar.

The demolition timer probably could be given some better visibility. I'm not even sure what is the official source for that information, aside from the email warning which is sent five days before your house is to be demolished (which in most cases should be enough to log in and enter the house to cancel the timer).

The NPC only holds the items for another month and a half though, before they're permanently deleted.

Don't you get contacted or something as the demo deadline gets closer?

Yes. It seems I remembered wrong, the notice is sent ten days prior to scheduled demolition, not five. And IIRC there would be a second notice before the demolition happens, but I've never let it go that far so I have no firsthand experience.

You should as long as you're set to receive emails from Sony.

Sony doesn't have any part in it for PC players, but I guess for PS players they might.

Demo timer should be 15 days. If you visit your house just to avoid the demo timer once a month then you’re not interested in your house.

If you know you're going to be taking long breaks from the game, get an apartment instead of buying a house. Apartments are not subject to demolition.

Move the items you purchased with real money or obtained from seasonal events into your apartment, or put them in a retainer's inventory. Anything that is purchased with gil is easy enough to replace so if you don't have enough room in your apartment or in your retainers' inventory you can desynthesize, vendor or discard them.

    Otherwise:

Demolition is after 45 days of non-entry by the house owner. Keep in mind this is true even if you don't let your subscription lapse.

If demolition occurs, the owner has 35 days to recover the furnishings from the Resident Caretaker.

You only have yourself to blame for not paying attention to the available information about how ownership works. The game even tells you to talk to the Resident Caretaker to learn more when you do the quest "Where the Heart Is". The game can't help it if you chose not to do that.

The system is fair. Try looking up the definition of the word. What you really mean is "the system won't let me have things my way for my convenience".

Adding in "a little bit of wards" is not going to solve the problem for active players, let alone trying to allow inactive players to maintain ownership. Try doing some actual research on the problem so you understand it better.

You're going to be a lot richer in game, and in life, if you learn to stop wasting money on things you're not going to be actively using. Take this as a lesson.
