We've seen what Garlemald's capital looks like already - it very closely resembles Vector from FFVI appropriately enough (albiet snowbound). So that's out I'm afraid.

FFIX was the last great FF aside from 14, the more references the better.
Hopefully more bosses like Ozma and COSTUMES. The garnet dress for example would be amazing, kuja outfit (with his epic hair), etc.
Just a leaf in the wind
Oh maybe, but surely I want something to resemble Lindblum in the future, really loved the aesthetics of that city. Maybe when SE finally introduces Airships as personal mount of housing, it can be introduced in Lindblum inspired city, an instanced area where all airships are docked. We've seen what Garlemald's capital looks like already - it very closely resembles Vector from FFVI appropriately enough (albiet snowbound). I don't know if we can reasonably expect this to happen in this MMO
I fear we won't see it until whatever their next one is.
Though your idea of docking them is super cool! Man I'd love to see that~
5.0 spoilers.
Aside from other things mentioned in this thread, I also got IX feels from the fight with Hades.
In IX, you fight Hades in an area constructed of memories. He's found in the ocean room.
In XIV, you also fight Hades in a memory/ocean zone.
I thought his design was similar to Oeilvert too:
"When Zidane and his party enter Oeilvert, they find it was built by the Terrans and holds devices that record Terran history. The holographs strewn across the ruins depict a Terran civilization that was advanced and inquisitive about its world, yet ultimately dying." - from here: https://finalfantasy.fandom.com/wiki/Oeilvert
Also, you learn about the construction of warships like IX's Invincible in Oeilvert. That warship is a reference to an airship from III, but IX's is notable for absorbing people's souls.
One of XIV!Hades' battle themes is fittingly titled "Invincible."
(Signature portrait by Amaipetisu)
"I thought that my invincible power would hold the world captive, leaving me in a freedom undisturbed. Thus night and day I worked at the chain with huge fires and cruel hard strokes. When at last the work was done and the links were complete and unbreakable, I found that it held me in its grip." - Rabindranath Tagore
