    Screenshots not saving to folder...

They are just copying to the clipboard. I've lost a few nice ones that I spent nearly an hour fiddling with. This started last night and I've tried all that has been recommended on what posts on Reddit and other sites. I am nearly to tears and have nearly resigned myself to just pasting every single new screenshot in Paint. A slow bulky process if you ask me.

    Please help?

I had that problem myself a while ago. It seems that the issue is caused by Antivirus software. Avast, and possibly other Antivirus tools seem to block XIV from saving screenshots. Why it suddenly does this, I don' know.
Theoretically, you should be able to whitelist the executable file, but It doesn't seem to change anything in my case. I've taken to just completely disabling the antivirus while I'm playing.

    Hope this helps.

It's been reported in the Technical and Bug Report sections of the forum so hopefully SE can get to the bottom of this. But it definetely seems like there must have been some kind of code change within the client that is now tricking antivirus software into thinking the screenshot function is a suspicious function. Creating an exception within your antivirus program for the specific folder where screenshots are saved (by default it's usually something like 'C:/Users/<your computer user account handle>/My Documents/My Games/FINAL FANTASY XIV - A Realm Reborn/screenshots'), as well as the 'Game' folder within the actual FFXIV client folder in the Programs directory of Windows, seems to fix the problem.

As for why this has suddenly happened, it's just one of those quirks of programming. One little change can often break something that didn't seem related (another SE example was a few years ago in FFXI a patch update for that broke FFXI's frontend PlayOnline Viewer in that it made antivirus programs think the whole main PoL Viewer client exe file was malware and thus deleted it automatically without any input from the player - SE quickly fixed the problem in the update patch download but the damage was already done in that players had to basically reinstall the whole client in some cases to restore the deleted file). So this similar issue in FFXIV does not surprise me at all.

If you're playing on PC, you can use the Windows Key + Printscreen combo to take screenshots as well. Screenshots taken this way won't have the game's watermark on it, though.

Have the same issue. Screenshots were saving well before but not anymore and no idea why. Tried whatever I could on reddit and google to no avail (keybind, new screenshot folder, already running as admin...).

I am not using Avast tho, using AVG for antivirus. I did check and FFXIV is not in the blocked apps. I just removed it. tried to do a screenshot and it worked, so there is the problem.

I did a full reinstall of the antivirus and after reinstalling and trying to do a screenshot, it prompted me and I allowed the app. Working correctly now.
