    Healing in Titan Unreal

I didn't have the chance to do Titan Extreme in ARR but I'm doing it now with the unreal version.

To put things in perspective, I do extreme and savage content, no ultimate. That being said, I'd say that the healing/DPS balance on Titan Unreal represent better what a healer role should be. Damage is still predictable, that didn't change. But the required healing output is far better than the previous savage tier where ogcd heals were suffisent to go through most of the fights.

Here you need to learn the fight to know were you can stop healing to start DPSing, which is the opposite of other content. On top of that, with the TB, the tank skills has a good impact on the heal needed, which is a good point.

On another topic, we have a glance of what happens when battle raise is not a thing. This will force people to train and not rely on raise when they fail. On the other hand, I pity people with high ping, and BLM main as well.

What are your thoughts about the healing in Titan unreal? And the inability to raise people who fell down?

The reason Titan Unreal healing isn’t trivial like savage, is because in savage the entry item level is 500, average player item level is 510, with the cap being 520.

This isn’t possible in Unreal fights as the item level is a flat number. I want to say 430 off the top of my head.

I've not done Unreal yet, but I did Extreme back in the day and you know what?

    I am inclined to agree.

Because it's an example I have used before when talking about healer roles. Titan Ex and Twintainia were my 2 favourite fights to heal in ARR.

One of the things that worked well back then I think was the dichotomy between SCH and WHM (as there was no AST back then), they complemented each other well on the fight. It'd be interesting to see how the dichotomy of healers works in the Unreal by comparison.

However, things to note are: the raid wide damage was fairly constant and hit hard enough to keep you going (back then we had fewer oGCD's too). In my first clear I didn't DPS once because I was focused, especially as it was a PUG and unexpected damage was more common from all the AoE dodging and there was a lot of movement and a tight DPS check with a few AoE drops.

One thing I liked too as a SCH in the fight I had to make more use of planned healing, particularly with shields. Whenever nowadays there is more emphasis on your oGCD's being your efficient way of healing.

I really should get a group together and try Unreal, it'd be interesting to see how it compares. But am glad to hear at least that it sounds like it still rings true that it's encounter design and how well your healing tools handle it that affect how engaging the healing aspect of playing a healer is.

Don’t get me wrong but I don’t think Titan has more healing too do. It’s just that tank don’t know the timings for mountainbuster and get almost always one shoot by them. Stomps do hit decent but you normally have enough ogcd too heal with that. And almost all people that die get knocked down so you can’t even rezz. I love titan as a boss fight, I love his theme. But I rather think shiva in staff phase had more healing too do.

Yeah, those four raid wides + the Dots. I feared more that (as a DPS, to not be enough healed), than a lot of mechs from savage.

Healing in Titan Unreal = I can't heal you if you get knocked off.

I haven't cleared it yet, but it's been fun trying and getting a taste of the old days. Closest I've got so far with just a couple of practice party attempts was getting to final phase and I was just like, "It only gets tougher from here boys ;p "

Being a little more on the serious side, I have to get all the way through the fight to make a final call on how I feel about the healing requirement. The stomps were not as bad as I thought they were going to be, but if someone or multiple players are near or at critical, those are definitely a problem. Tanks have so many mitigative CDs at this level, that I would imagine that swaps were much more necessary back when the lv was 50. Now the two groups I was in both swapped only during phase transitions or if the MT got punted off, and even then, I think the stack count was more bark than bite. I ended up taking excog out of my rotation to reserve for one of the other players who would take avoidable damage.

I am planning on heading in there again right meow.
