    Mentor’s Roulette

FF14 is a great game, BUT there are more and more inactive accounts each day. It would be nice if the rewards are increased for mentor roulette as this will actually entice mentors to run more roulettes and keep the older content relevant to end game players. An increase in Gil received would probably make the most sense, as countless endgame players like to just keep hoarding everything they make, so the economy grows stale. Increase people’s ability to earn Gil and it will stimulate the in game economy.

The reward of Gil for mentor roulette isn't, and never will be the reason why people do that one.
Of the various things the roulette rewards, the gil is the least useful of them.
Given that such a very large amount of the time, anybody being pulled in from mentor roulette knows they are not going to complete it, because people who have to be rescued from mistakes, are not going to listen and stop making them, there's no expectation of actually getting the reward. It really dosen't matter how large you make it, if you don't get it because you've ended up in an ilvl synced, echo off, titan ex fight.

I can assure you Gil wouldn't really make people jump at the roulette. I'm currently at around 1500 runs and after talking with multiple people who either have the mount or are going through it generally just go as DPS since there's less of a chance for you to be put into an Extreme trial. or as a Castrum/Prae run where you barely get anything for the amount of time spent.

If they take out the Extremes and make them their own roulette I'd bet it would increase the influx of people running Mentor, since more people would probably queue on the AIN role knowing there wouldn't be anything too crazy in store.

Me myself I generally do the AIN just for fun, sometimes you get an extreme that can work out, other times you get a guildhest that lasts less then a minute. All a luck of the draw imo.

    Word.
I've flirted with the idea of becoming a mentor, but won't because I don't know all of the raids well enough to teach them.
Though... if Mentor Roulette EX was a thing I wonder how much people would actually run it.

I mean at it's core you're usually a fill in for whatever duty you're doing. If it's the normal stuff Dungeons/Trials/Raids etc just be yourself and it'll be fine.

Sometimes people don't even need help so you can just do your own thing and be a good example.

If you do find yourself in an Extreme trial or something you're not familiar with it's okay to be honest. However you'll sometimes get situations where there are sprouts who don't know how to actually get gear proper and it will hinder your experience even if you know what you're doing. At that point it's a battle between wasting time or just cutting to the point and offering advice before leaving.

I've taken a ton of penalties just because I knew it wasn't going to work out after a couple of pulls, so at that point you're better off doing something else for 30 minutes until you can go back in.

If there was an actual roulette I assure you people would run it, just not as frequent as the others. If mentor rou can pop an EX off people waiting in Duty Finder queues a focused roulette would prove the same if not better results especially if everything is laid out bare.

I stopped doing dungeons even for dailies. The devs need to redesign their dungeons or give us something else to work for other than tomes and Gil. I wouldn’t mind having objectives or challenges that are challenging. Maybe a experience bar for some horizontal progression. Maybe allow us to take one of our grand company recruits into dungeons to grow them infinitely. After 10000 runs how much more do you expect people to run the same cycle. 6.0 needs to shake the core of this game.
