Fair warning to those who are unaware:

Just got a tell earlier this evening saying 'this player scammed me for 370m gil, please help support my video evidence posted on the FFXIV forums to get this player banned' or some sort. The link posted had the obvious .com-v.me at the end.

Do not follow it, do not enter your information into the fake website.

I think the bottom line is to just not trust links from strangers, especially if they don't even bother introducing themselves or anything prior.

Thing is, there are a lot of people unaware/ignorant or just ... don't care and go look at the link anyway. Which is a shame

Obviously no one should be trying to run this scam, but...I also can't blame them if people keep falling for something so blatantly obvious.

I will admit I went to one of the links(was a pain since I play on PS4 and had to type the whole thing in...) just so I can put an expletive filled username and password. We're talking 8 words as one, with the first letters capitalised, for each saying how their efforts are wasted

Just going there could have downloaded stuff to your computer, and I doubt they're personally observing the text of failed password inputs, so you well may have put yourself at risk just for the opportunity to shout into the void.

Make sure you at least run an antivirus check.

It was a few months ago, back when it was the "SE shouldn't do this update at this time" line being used.

If Black Desert Online did anything very well, it was their word filter that you could set up so you wouldn't even be able to see it, let alone have it sent to you to help protect the users from this garbage.

You would enter key words into your filter, such as '.com', 'bank', 'pvp', and variations of words. The entire line of text wouldn't even make it to your screen. There really isn't enough being done with the bots and gil farmers, even after tirelessly reporting them. SE relies on us more than we do them regarding this battle of trash. Sure, they post their weekly 'bot cleansing' posts, but we never know that's the case, because we see the same people with the same 10 bots standing in one spot doing the same thing over and over. It's like there was nothing ever done.

If I have to do your job SE, then pay me to report them or create a filter so I don't even have to look at the endless spam. Better yet, be more proactive with your game and monitor it better.
