Collegiate Attire & why not high knee socks?

@OP It's most likely because this is a representation of the traditional school uniform in Korea (and by extension sorta-kinda Japan). People don't wear knee high socks; I mean they might go at most mid calf..or they just go full on tights.

No saying it doesn't exist, but I am saying the amount of complaints I've heard about glue/rubber bands/other MacGuyvering to keep the socks up makes a lot of schoolgirls I know hate 'em.

I for one vote for simple character design. It's an MMO and beyond my character I don't really care what other people look like. I can find something that satisfies me and don't really need "the perfect look".

For me, the problem is, people who are unsatisfied will never be satisfied/always want more- I'm rather impressed with the amount of variety in look available in FFXIV personally. Also, the more complicated each character is, the slower it's going to run on my rig. I'd rather allocate those resources (both my processing power and development time) on other things.

Of course no offense to any that disagree, just my humble opinion.

Because the glamours in FFXIV are simple, the hairstyles are simple & the character creator is simple
Until people start actually advocating & requesting for improvements in such things, just keep expecting lackluster or simple.

It's so weird how many clothes combinations are just not possible in this game. For example also "socks", "stockings" or "tights" on the leg equipment that always have to stop at the ankles so you can only wear boots with them, so technically they are nothing more than leg warmers or leggings. Or how so many long gloves or gauntlets have to be HUGE or everything will clip. Or the whole topic about Viera and Hrothgar head gear.

I'd expect we don't get true socks because we also can't have true bare feet. They could probably do it, but we would still get a bit of a sandal along with them. When it comes to the robustness of most arm gear, something you can look into are some body pieces have sleeves or arm guards as part of the attire, but not attached to it. If you like the look it is not difficult to find hand gear that matches or blends well. These items are clearly visible as their thumbnails depict this feature. Some examples are, but not limited to are the Chief Bunny Bustier and Thavnairian Bolero.

I'm just sitting here wondering if I'm the only person annoyed that the shirt has 3 button holes but only 2 buttons. Seeing it in cutscenes over and over is driving me nuts lol I mean, once you see it, you cannot un-see it!

Oh, I put that down to typical sloppy teen dressing practices/clothing care. One button ripped off, or they misaligned the holes whilst dressing.
