Getting a plot needs to be fixed.

I am getting retired of spending hours clicking on a plot only to have a relocator come and take it over. They should only be allowed to relocate to a available plot on just its first 2 hours of coming on the market then locked out so someone who has no plot can hope to get one.

I also propose that when Ishgard Housing drops, all relocators are banned for 48 hrs relocating there. Let those of us who have no plot have a chance to get one. And I do not buy the BS that there will be lots of plots left in the old world after the relocators move. Why should we spend all of our game time clicking all day on a plot. Not everyone will want to relocate to Ishgard so they will be relocating all over the place making it extremely difficult for new land owners.

Also cut back on the timers before a lot sells. What ever it is, is way too long. It just rewards those who want to relocate and have time to look around and steal it form those of us who have invested time in clicking.

I pay a monthly fee and should have an easier time to get a plot when one come up. I pay to play, not click for hours on some plot.

Not every plot that become available will be taken by someone relocating because not every plot is desirable enough for people to want to pay a second time.

The number of available houses does not change when someone relocates. Relocation does not lock out buyers. The only thing that changes is which locations are available.

Considering how the last ward addition went in 5.35, SE will probably go back to using a private purchase moratorium for the Ishgard wards when they open. You're still not going to have first rights if you want a personal house.

Everyone else is also paying that monthly fee so that's a poor argument to use when it comes to getting a house.

If you're paying to play, then go play?

Your ideas do nothing to change the real problem - lack of supply. Instead of throwing out ideas that keep a poor system functioning poorly, trying supporting ideas that actually fix the problem.

SE will not limit relocations in the way you describe because it limits options players are intended to have. Banning relocations even temporarily is a step backward. If Ishgard was open to non homeowners only, people would be stripping out their decor and demolishing houses to go and re-purchase in Ishgard. The old method of relocating before the relocation system was implemented by SE.

I do agree with you the timer is too long, I think it shouldn't exist at all.

Alternatively, I think SE needs to pick:
    A) housing for everyone (instances or 80 wards total)
    B) keep ~6,000 houses for 20,000+ players but price them like only one in five people can have one

SE really needs to make housing vastly more available for more players by adding more wards asap as well as rebalancing the system to give a much fairer chance for players that don't have 22 hours to click a sign repetitively, like a lottery/cactpot system. Not to mention they should also prevent players from reselling the house for an egregiously higher amount, as well as make it a bannable offense for attempting to do so, because this market is horrible and impossible for the average player to get a house like this.
