Please don't delay Savage Raid Releases

There have been requests for a while now from people asking the dev team to consider delaying the release of Savage difficulty for raid tiers by one or two weeks.

Now that the dev team has acknowledged this in the live letter, I'd like to request that we don't go down this path. One of the most exciting parts of the release of an even major patch is being able to jump into the new savage raid. Several features are already being held and released after patch day, sometimes 6 weeks after.

Please don't add Savage Raids to the delayed content list.

As a long time HC raider, I welcome them to delay the savage tier by at least one week, they already do this during expansion releases and it makes preparation SO MUCH smoother. You don't have to rush getting your crafted gear, getting pots, having someone in the background crafting for you while you raid. Delaying Savage by a week is a minimal compromise and not only it will make preparation better, it will also bring more people to raid as they have more time themselves for it as well.

Other games like Destiny or WoW already do this, of delaying the highest difficulty by a fixed amount of weeks so that people can prepare comfortable for it. And another thing is that by delaying Savage, people that do HC or World Prog get to enjoy the rest of the patch without feeling like they have to leave it all for after prog. Raiders like Xeno have brought this up and I strongly agree, a week delay has more pros than cons, and they should definitely go through with it for next expansion and onwards (which I think they will judging by their statements).

Sorry OP. You’re a minority. Being given a week to sort out my crafting gear around my busy life would be a godsend

There are some savage raiders who also enjoy the other content in the game but they can't do any of it because of savage on a raid patch release, also it'd give the savage raiders some preperation time, i'm not really that fussed myself as I don't do savage raiding but I think delaying it a week or two is the best option.

Having it all release at once is a nightmare for people who want to take part in savage raids AND experience the story and other content.
You get pressured to rush through everything, and you're not able to enjoy it for what it is because you have to get to that raid tier ASAP to keep up with the rest of your static.

Delaying Savage extends the life of all the other content. You now don't have to rush through it all in one day. The patch, which took more than 3 months to release, lasts longer than one single day and leaves more to do than just Savage prog for the coming week.

honestly, the lack of a delay is probably the biggest cause of the misconception that hardcore raiders don't care about story at all. obviously it might seem like that if you have to skip story to get through to the raid, but if you have an extra week, you can pace yourself through story and then still be set for first day of raid.

Who the heck takes a week to do the story (update) in this game? I mean maybe like 2 hours?

    Story update.
Raid series story, not skipping cutscenes to unlock and blast through normal.
New Trial and Extreme, especially when it's a sidequest and not an MSQ one. Gives you a chance to play this instead of sidelining it until your static prog takes a break.
When you work or can't devote >6 hours a day to this game, there's isn't enough time to do all of that at a comfortable pace and raid.

Gathering and crafting gear sets for whole raid groups, alongside multiple foods and pots is more what this is about, not the story content. If you participated at least once on these events at a higher level than midcore you'd know how stressful it can be, for both the people gathering and crafting and the raiders who have to rush through everything to get raiding.

Then skip a week and do it then if story and prep is so important? Some people will want to do it week 1, so they have more to do and prog that first week.
