man, we had like a million of these polls pop up already. ok more like 8 but thats more than should ever come up on one topic lol. I do want pet classes to be introduced but do not want drg to become a pet class. I can keep my thoughts separate like that.
can i as you why though? its not even like the old wyvern they are god damn awesome Drakes that glow as they are about to do there elemental breath.

I already answered your question on the first page. Final Fantasy Eleven, was the eleventh entry in the series. Dragoon had already been characterized long before this, often as a lone knight who deals a boatload of melee damage with spears.
Flash forward to FFXI where Dragoons went through years and years of being second class citizens because SE couldn't balance them properly with their pet, and they had to deal with obnoxious things like their pet dying to AoEs, etc.
Even if the pet were balanced properly, managing a pet is it's own thing, and something some people may not want to deal with, and again, it changes the feeling of the class dramatically. I don't want Dragoon to have a pet, but I can understand why people do. It's fine to disagree, but is it really so hard to understand why the other side of the argument feels the way they do?
Im sorry the why was for Volsung. but ya i do remember that in 11. But also in 11 its why i loved it It was something new.It wasnt perfect yes but nothing new is ever perfect . (14 itself lol)and if you have recently played 11 they are far from what ther origianlly were. I think it would fit perfectly in this game. and like i suggested make it OPTIONAL so if ppl dont want it they dont have to.I already answered your question on the first page. like i said. you have to be evil and let Nidhogg control your body to have a pet drake. <_< didnt you listen to the lore? >_> Nidhogg is evil dragon. u need to kill it or be control by it <_<Im sorry the why was for Volsung. but ya i do remember that in 11. wth is wrong with you!!! >:[
if i could let him control me i totally would

No thanks, I prefer the old school DRG over FF11's sad excuse.
Keep it as it is thanks.
Sadly I came in here expecting a discussion about BST and SMN but nope it was a DRG thread in disguise.

Optional?
Option 1: be a sucky melee with a cute pet dragon consolation prize.
Option 2: be a normal melee that gets invited to parties.
Hmm. What to choose?
