I know what my problem is thanks, I'm over 3k miles from the nearest server, so what I'm saying is while you're lucky you've never had problems, this doesn't mean they don't exist.
WHERE IS THIS KETTLE EVERYONE KEEPS INTRODUCING ME TO?
Don't even bother. All Reap00 ever does is praise every single feature of the game and claim that problems don't exist, as if they're part of SE's PR team.
For instance, i play with my wife being in the same room, most the time her playing heal so keeping check on my LP... the times when even she on her side sees me move in time or even PAST HER into the save Zone and still get it are countless... or when i use an aoe shield the second a boss starts casting his attack, yet only for it taking effect after the hit...
Its too dependend on serverside and theres few reason for that as we see ppl still can hack or bot...
Its mostly their servers or the route to them... as its surely neither my pc nor our ps4 as its not happening all the time or on certain hours. Like, i get the servers are stressed if 1000 do the ssame thing or i see when my connection is worse then usual.

The route to them is most likely, at least in my opinion. Servers can be complicated and a million and one things can interrupt a connection from point A to point B.

Hmm. Not sure if you mean the original beta or arr beta. But here are some examples that have been proven already.
IN 1.X Ifrit for your relic weapon quest. You had to anticipate the aoes or you got hit by them. Their was so much latency you had to move before the markers even appeared on some mechanics. (gogo all server being in japan)
In ARR titan. There are tons of videos of people being off the AOE markers far in advanced who then get thrown off the arena.
Anytime through the games history there are videos of fights where people are off aoes but still get clipped by them. Including in my group from last night fighting emerald ex.
So yea server ticks are a thing.
The effect diminishes the closer you are to the server obviously. But this effects the MAJORITY of people in NA. Part of it is latency due to physical distance part of it is how SE designed the server checks on your character's position.
Just to clarify, are they solely using the AOE marker to judge whether they dodged the attack or did they watch the cast bar too?In ARR titan. There are tons of videos of people being off the AOE markers far in advanced who then get thrown off the arena.

The AOE marker shows you the area of effect of the attack, but it's the cast bar that signals the attack itself (if it has a cast bar). So you need to move out of the AOE marker before the cast bar (whether visible or invisible) finishes, and if people are not paying attention or try to keep uptime until the last seconds, that's not really a server tick issue.
Trials (no I won’t call them raids) in Eden are supposed to carry rest of the expansion and are meant to be redone over and over until 6.0 and are supposed to be more flowing over time. You can’t memorize it now give it 3 months and you’ll know the fights better than your parents

The Eden fights aren't hard. The first run is definitely about learning, but after that it's easy. It's not hardcore and it's not difficult.

Yeah. During this final tier on normal mode I think the most times I wiped were on the 2nd boss. Maybe 3-4. Don't think I wiped on the first boss or the 3rd, and it only took 2 attempts with a mostly green group to clear the final boss. Definitely the easiest tier so far, at least on normal.
