well and thats the point... see how much content (and maximum cap level raise) the expansions "Rise of the Zillart" and "Chains Of Promathia" brought to FFXI.. it was about 2-3 years after the game was released.

and you compare this experience with the basic game of FFXIV. i think 2.0. could be that, what Chains of Promathia was to FFXI. and i think we have good content now in comparison what the FFXI standard game offered, seeriously.

and how i mentioned.. FFXI was a good game BACK then. but not for today. FFXIV is more active in any way, do not need to rest for an hour after each mob kill as a white mage.. you cruise around the camps, dont standing the whole time in one place. and maybe 2.0. can be even much better and more modern than we have it now.

be surprised.. and dont call for an other FFXI. it is in your memories (which i can understand). i personally loved FFXI back then^ it was a great experience.

CoP really didn't bring a lot of actual content to the game. Almost none at all, until near the end of the storyline when Sea was introduced. Though the storyline was one of the best, with no new jobs and only one real new battle system (Limbus) it was very light for an expansion.

Just kind of a side comment.

That's the problem with most MMO's, easy quest leveling. No challenge. borign as hell, not for hardcore RPG gamers but casual WOW players.

Maxing every character in FFXI means nothing any more. the Level cap is 99. All tho much easier to get from 75-99.

Can't jump the end game, becuase like in wow, it get's old, very fast. Can't have easy crafting, like in wow where it's over very fast.

Not everyone is cut out for crafting in XI and XIV, and that is good. Some peopel can farm and be suppliers, some manufacturers.

Challengign leveling, ahallenging end game, and expandign for more challenging leveling, and more end game, works longer in the long run. Then you don't sit around hopign aroudn on your mount with little more to do.

? hmm? hardcore players dont want to spend months leveling either. Leveling up isn't supposed to be challenging, and pretty much isn't in any game.

In fact I would argue that hardcore players are the ones that least enjoy grinding levels.

This is what PLers actually believe. May Altana have mercy on our souls...

LOL I love grinding levels, I hate grinding instances. I at least know I'm getting somewhere.

I consider myself a hardcore gamer.
