Maidy, whose story was made into “Dad of light”, has passed away

Dad of Light, or “Hikari no otousan”, is a drama portraying a true-life story of Maidy’s attempt to connect with his father through FFXIV.

Maidy has been battling cancer for the longest time, and on 10 December 2020, succumbed to illness and passed away.

After reading Yoshi-P's post, it makes me wonder if the mecha enthusiast in the Weapons Extreme unlock is in some way meant to represent Maidy.
