I -still- havent finished WHM and BLM yet (let alone the others) cause I havent had the good fortune to have had the right levels at the right time when everyone else was blazing through them. I've seen people sitting there recruiting for hours before they had a full party. Andrien in post #100 said it.

So forced solo is no where near as inconvenient.

    Solution... I said it already:
"In a lot of ways I wish the content was more flexible so that it could adjust to your party (or solo) strength. "

I will say this tho. It is hard for a game to be all things to all people all the time. The creators sure have their work cut out for them. Especially when dealing with whiners and crybabies like us. ^.^
This is exactly why I don't want to see the storyline quests being possible with a full group. Shouting for an hour+ for a fight that takes about 10 minutes tops? Screw going through that pain again.

Seriously, it's story progress, not getting Ridill/E-Body tier equipment solo.

That people love to do with a loved one for example. The main thing is, the fact you're forced to solo now generally, hence why some don't want the ability to solo the whole thing.

Though given recent trend, they're clearly moving more toward party play and allowing people to do quests together, and if anything AF quests are probably a good example of what a party based questline is going to be like. They're difficult, not soloable but you don't exactly NEED a full party.

To have the ability to do it with someone else is good. Being forced to do it with someone else is bad.

Because I wasn't all 50 when 1.21 came out I am really struggling to find a party to get some of the AF gear now. One player in the biggest LS on the server spent at least 5 hours yesterday getting to 3/8 people for doing the last bard quest and I still need 3 levels of ARC to do that. I am not looking forward to trying to get together a group for that when I hit 50 and for the people who recently started; God help them, they will have an absolute nightmare getting the AF gear and will be totally at the mercy of kind strangers.

The more storyline content SE forces us to do in parties, the less I like the game and it really is only a reasonable thing to complete for those already fully ready to do the content on the day the patch comes out. The first day after 1.21 I had one class ready at 50 and it was a breeze to do as there were dozens of people sitting by the quest NPCs just waiting for parties. Now, I'm lucky to meet up with one person when I go see a quest NPC and shouts in Uldah get more futile every day for this content as there are fewer people left to do it at the right level.

This is the general problem with small content such as quests, AF, etc. that were developed with a party concept in mind. If you don't jump on the train within the first couple of days to a week, the amount of people looking for groups significantly dies down. And sadly, most people are unwilling to help or compromise to get stuff done. They'd rather continue shouting for members instead of taking a step or two back to help someone to secure more people.

When a story's challenge actually revolves around finding people than the actual fight itself, something needs to change.
