You can't have epic intense and difficult Story line missions that are ALSO solo friendly. You can try but we end up with that weird as hell FIGHT or PARLEY system. Which in all frankness sucks Dhamel ass.

If you want solo friendly content and easy accessible quests be prepared to never feel good about beating them. Instead of being an important mile stone in your journey it becomes yet another task you've checked off.

A split is fine. Much like how CoP did it. A string of mainly walk here talk this cut scene string alongs followed by an incredibly challenging group fight or instance. I'm not saying I want the ENTIRE thing BALLS in VICE hard but if you let players breeze through the whole thing without some kind of real resistance then you're going to lose a great deal of the experience.
Uh, you do know that this is a game right? And you are supposed to have fun right? And many do not always find "forced group activity" fun right? Also, no one is saying make main scenario content a breeze to fly through, I think we are discussing giving the option for those. Make the difficulty scale to the size of the group and let me add, the type of class/job you are playing. No way on CON should I be able to cast one or two spells and fight is over, but on the same token, if I don't have 2 hours to pull people together to get through something that requires 4+ people, I should not be forced into a road block on something I am paying for.

I come to play an MMO solo and with friends to have some down time from RL, not to come here to be stressed out because I can't get through a main scenario situation on my own.

That doesn't make me or anyone else who feels the same way lazy. And as Andrien stated, this would NOT be the first first MMO to implement something like this.

I say if people want to group to do content, awesome, if not, awesome. As long as each individual is having fun playing with a product they purchased the right to play, why should one be pigeon holed into doing something they don't want to do, can't do or don't feel comfortable doing? Like you, others have the right to play the way they choose, this doesn't make them lazy. Everyone's circumstances are different and they are choosing to do something that best suits their situation.
