    An Absolute Series of Login Errors, Disconnects, and Lag

    For context, I played the game yesterday with absolutely no issues. Now today, trying to play at all has been pretty much impossible. For the three hours I have tried on and off, I've only managed to play around ten minutes.

    The issues first start with the launcher. Oftentimes, parts of it won't load; either the left side information is missing, the right side login box never loads, or both. When either both or the login box appears, another issue will often arise. "Unable to complete version check," with a series of numbers, causing the launcher to go back to the initial login stage.

    Sometimes, however, it will go past this, and allow me to log in. Here comes more issues; sometimes I will click start, and it will not respond. Sometimes, I click start, only to be met with a Lobby Error (2002.) And sometimes, it will take me to the character select, where I am able to choose my character.

    Then, even more issues will occur. Sometimes, I will get a "Connection to the Server was Lost" issue, both 90002 and 90006 have appeared. Sometimes, I will get "An unexpected error has occurred, exiting FFXIV," with a game crash. And sometimes, the loading screen will straight up not load, and without any error prompts, close the client.

    And then finally, when I do manage to get in, I notice there is a lot of delay. Seconds for actions to respond, and it will often end with disconnects (90006 seems to be the most common.)

    I have absolutely no clue why this is suddenly happening. I updated computer yesterday, but game was fine after update. No other constant internet access game is giving me such issues. I have done firewall checks, I have done router checks, about the only thing I haven't done is reinstall game since it's a bulky order. I have literally done nothing to the game since play yesterday to cause such issues.

    I am also having this exact same series of issues, to the letter, ever since the hotfix update as well. I was able to snag a screenshot of the version check error, so I can specify that for anyone who might come along to help resolve the issue: [30410] [30607] [10009] [19900] [12152]

    Will be eagerly refreshing this thread to see how this unfolds.

    Add me to all the lists experiencing lag and disconnects previous days, can't even log in today. Been watching my ping for half an hour, its not me. Also had difficulty logging into the forum tonight so, please don't ask me to *clear my cookies and browsing history*.

    I am also having same issue. This morning I was lagging bad in POTD, booted out of game several times. This evening patcher isn’t even loading correctly. Can’t log in atm

    Adding my voice to these issues. I believe I started noticing these same problems around Friday (11/13). Since then, daily, I've either been booted out of the game or when logging in, the launcher is fully or partially blank. I've combed the internet and the forums for fixes and nothing has resolved the issue. I've reset my internet gateway, opened ports, adjusted internet settings, and uninstalled/re-installed the game to no avail. Even after uninstalling the game I spent hours fighting with the launcher trying to get re-installed until I just gave up that night and tried again the following morning where it went through. I even went so far as to purchase the game on my PS4 just trying to get in. I had issues there too until I uninstalled the game and re-installed it.

    Posting a small update on my end, as well as a thought.

    Today, I managed to log in on my first try with no issues (I have since not logged out, out of concern the login issues will return.) I have noticed some odd lag spikes here and there, but they are nowhere near as constant as they were yesterday, where the game was practically unplayable. I have also yet to receive a disconnect, even when going AFK an hour to prepare stuff.

    I did learn from others elsewhere though, of people having very similar issues to mine, if not outright on the nose, and we all have one thing in common. We are all using AT&T's internet.

    I'm deeply wondering if something weird is going on with AT&T trying to communicate with Square Enix's servers. When I called my provider, they said everything should be running fine, with no obvious errors found—which would explain why pretty much everything else works fine—but I can't help but wonder if Square Enix's side of things is having a hiccup.
