Sick and tired of aiming gear designs

Sorry, guys, this is an overdue rant that has been accumulating over years now. The last straw was today’s 5.4 new gear.

Can physical ranged DPS please stop getting maiming and tanking gear? I’m so sick and tired of getting armored gear that doesn’t suit the classes BRD/MCH/DNC. Like, please give us nice-looking gear for a change. I’m fed up with being disappointed with every normal raid gear BRD gets. We always get the short end of the stick. Physical ranged classes are supposed to be agile, yet we’re the ones stuck with armors. Like, seriously? And even when we get sets that look like striking/scouting (the tome gear, for example), they get the better colors and small detail differences (have you seen that hideous aiming head piece?).

I’m also sick of this stupid style that SE keep recycling. I don’t want unisex gear all the freaking time. I want something feminine for my female character from time to time. We rarely get skirts, sandals (dunno if we ever got ones), or anything flattering for females. I was so hoping to get better-looking gear when I learned DNC was gonna share the aiming gear, but alas, that class is now stuck with the same shit as BRD and MCH.

I always look forward to new gear they add. I love clothes and putting together nice outfits in real life, and this passion got transferred into the game. But with aiming, I find myself disappointed most of the time with the gear we get. And before someone says "Go play a class that has the gear you like," no. I shouldn't have to change the class I enjoy because of uninspired and lazy recycling of designs. And before someone else says "Then stop complaining about this since you choose to play your class," also no. I'm allowed to express my frustration with something I'm passionate about.

Please tell me I’m not the only one this frustrated with the aiming gear in this game.

I think a lot of the more recent gear has been pretty bad. I do like some of the glam available but would be nice to see some gear come out looking cool. There hasn't been a whole lot of gear in any one patch in particular that just floored me as far as I remember.

I main DNC and the gear I feel just does not fit the job at all. Its heavy looking and I want something pretty and feminine.

I love the look Rydia has from the earlier FF games I feel they have really stopped trying with gear and hairstyles too

Honestly gear design is trash tier since mid-SB i would say. I'm not sure what is the problem, i don't think that gear design team lacks skill, maybe they lack imagination. Either way it's a problem that gets ignored for some time now.

As a MCH main I don't see the problem. Every class gets hand me down recolors from other classes not just rdps, and honestly when 70% of the community is going to glamour 2b's pants and a bikini top over everything I don't blame them for not putting in more effort sometimes.

Probably because the armors that come out actually do not look good. Everything has turned into a damn trench coat look. People will resort to things like this because that's about all they have left to use for a glamour, as the base armor just isn't appealing anymore. They'd rather look at butt cheeks because it's the only thing left worth looking at. This complaint has been an issue for some time now, and it's not just aiming gear - it's the entire armor set for the jobs.

Whoever is creating the armor sets have lost their ability to be creative and keep repeating the same look, or had an episode of some type to make them just look bad.

I don't mind the recolors, but my issues are a) the shitty colors aiming gets most of the time, and b) aiming getting the maiming/fending instead of striking/scouting or casting/healing.

Sorry but why is this an excuse to be lazy (even if you're saying this as a joke)? While I do know a lot of people use the pieces you mentioned, they're hardly 70% of the playerbase (even if you were exaggerating there). But like the post above me said, the gear is starting to look so same-y and uninspired/boring with them reusing the same styles over and over and over again.

If they made gear that actually looked good more people would use these pieces as glamour, rather than resorting to butt armor.

As a DPS, I only play BRD. And when it comes to glamour, I only invest in my BRD (don't really have inventory space for other classes). I won't claim to know what's going on with the other classes, but I'm sure they also have their issues. I just know healers are sick of robes and my own frustration with aiming gear since I experience it firsthand. That's about it. This is why I made a thread about aiming only ^^;
