Please sirs, furniture scaling or just make a bunch of Lalafell sized furniture

I remember watching the Penn Jillete episode of a housing show, iirc it was Cribs, where he showed off his custom mansion. The feature he was clearly happiest about was that everything was built to a scale to be comfortable to him given his height of 6'6."

Everyone knows the Lalafell run Eorzea, yet the furniture is all Roegadyn scale.

Ideally every furniture item would have a scale setting. Just like 5 size options should be fine if a full slider is too much to ask for. Ideally the footprint would be smaller if the furniture scale was smaller too.

If that's too much to ask for for some practical developer's reason then we need some Lalafell furniture. My Lalafell Berenice likes her enormous couch and many of the other large chairs of Eorzea, but she'd appreciate being able to cook and access cabinets without using a stepstool or thaumaturgy. Some Lala scale options for things would be nice.

A full slider wouldn't be wasted, I don't think. I'm sure there are plenty of cool things you could do with it.

For example as an alchemist, Berenice would like cauldrons of varrying sizes. It'd be cool to have a few small cauldrons as well as a medium and large in a lab setup, for example.

No doubt there are many creative possibilities for a slider with a wide range of sizes.

A slider definitely would be useful, though I'm quite certain what you have in mind when you say "full".

The slider in RIFT's Dimensions allowed you to resize from 50% to 200% if I remember correctly (it's been a few years). Occasionally I would wish the range was farther but most of the time it was enough for what I wanted to do.

And of course there's the ongoing request for free placement and rotation vertically.

Hopefully these are things they'll choose to implement in the future.

Well I was thinking there would be two basic approaches. One approach would be just like ~5 options for scale from Lalafell to Roegadyn/Male Aura. The other approach would let you make things from really big to really small. And of course there's sliders that have steps and sliders that are ~continuous.

Like for example just having a 'furniture scaling' setting would be a huge improvement. But with something that was more like a 'full' slider it would let you make things that were really big or really small. Consider an item like the Bomb Cauldron. You could make a really really big one that was like the size of the bathtubs and have it in the center of an alchemy workshop with a platform and stairs around it. And you could have cauldrons of varrying sizes from very small and up all around the room. Ideally, below a certain size you could put them on tabletops.

I'd agree I'd probably mostly not need such a wide range on a furniture size slider, but then again there are probably some really creative things people would do with it and there'd be some really cool rooms out there as a result of having the option. With housing in this game people are out there making tons of stunning designs.

Unfortunately it's hard to get that sort of detail in an apartment because of the need to float furniture from below and the huge number of items needed for the clipping that provides the appearance of unique items.

But still apartments offer a lot more than some think. You just need to have an open mind and get creative.

OT: This is the enjoyment that atleast could be attained for a fixed price of 500,000 gil, it's such a small space it's not a plotted space that's true, but it's a permanent space one can own nonetheless. Untill such time when a solution is implemented one could have atleast enjoyed and not feel left out in the context of housing.

Two male Elezen can sit together on a hingan chair (the single version), or one roegadyn, so you're not wrong actually...

I can't help but wonder though, if you could make all your furniture tiny, wouldn't you require far more item slots to populate that space with? I think small, regular size, large would be enough for size options though. While they're at it, let us manually change y axis please...
