Its down for 24hours partly cause of the patch, but the main reason is infrastructure maint.

These maintenances tend to happen about 2 or 3 times per major patch. In normal conditions they last about 4 to 8 hours, but, due to the current global health situation, staffing limits have forced them to take 24 hours in order to do the same work.

Absolutely not. All the main patches are 24 hour, 5.0,5.1 ect. Side patches like 5.41 or 5.45 usually take 4 to 8 hours usually closer to 4 and may end a bit early. This isnt new at all.

Yeah, maintenance for major patches (5.4 in this case) is usually 24 hours but sometimes ends an hour or two early.

So usually you will not be able to play on the day before a major patch, usually Monday for the .x patches though the exact time and day will vary depending on your time zone.

Sometimes this interferes with completing limited time or seasonal
events, so be forewarned!

Note you can usually download the version update before server maintenance actually ends.
