They celebrate it, but yeah it's not a national holiday (though I think schools and such use it to take a day off anyway). They have their own traditions like Christmas cakes. And KFC.

Anyways the Starlight stuff starts near the middle of December, then we get that and Heavensturn back to back. Wait until the patch is out before you start freaking out.

The holidays on other games are when they start doing month long "Events" where most of the items are locked behind either that grind, or cash shop (or both). Mostly cash shop event though.

Yeah I played LOTRO for a bit... their events are so annoying, have to do like 20 tasks a day for weeks on end to get the items. Ugh, An event for 2 weeks or so is better.

These are copied from a wiki page showing the seasonal events, so if we're getting it I'd guess it'd be on the 14th of December. There's normally not many items in the events, so a smaller period for it is ok honestly.

I would say the 15th since it falls on a Tuesday. But yeah it will likely be around then and we'll get the holiday page mid next week.

Looking at last year's news, Starlight celebration was announced on December 11. 2018's was announced on December 10. The 2017 event was announced on December 12, only three days before it began. There doesn't seem to be any particular logic to when the event starts (like specific weekday), though December 18 is the most common date. So far it's always been between 15th and 18th. I would expect the announcement in about a week at the earliest, and if it hasn't been announced in two weeks then it seems likely that the event has been canceled.

They would have most likely have said something in the last live letter if Starlight was going to be canceled. I'm also in agreement with the mount shown off coming from said event and not the cash shop.

The Starlight Celebration since 2013 has gone live around 17-18th of December. So there is still time for it to be revealed, plus the snowman mount kinda suggest there is the reward for this years Starlight Celebration

christmas events don't normally start til around the 18th, it's too early to have heard anything about it yet.
