Potential spoilers here. level 58 job quest unable to complete

I have done this fight against an Ascian 4 times so far, it's the hardest longest fight I have seen so far. The quest is name is "I could have tranced all night". The Asican you fight has an extreme amount of hp. On the fourth try I got him to 0-1 hp for 4 minutes and could not kill him. I saw no special skill I needed to use and or not items either. Anyone have this issue?

Oy I figured it out, if you pay attention to the dialogue during the fight you don't even fight the boss at all.

Are you saying that I do not fight the Ascian at all?

Do not waste your time fighting the Boss. His intention is to keep you occupied so that you will not be able to do the meditation...

Instead, attack his summons. Each one you defeat will open up the ether lines.

Run to it then click on it to Attune

Once you do more summons will appear. Keep defeating them to open up each ether line and then Attune to them.

Once you have opened up all 6, the boss will change to the Chalice and all of his summons will appear at once. Defeat all of the Summons and not the boss to clear the duty.

Also I have to point out, your instructions aren't really "how to win without fighting the boss". That is simply what you are expected to do to complete the duty. The Ascian isn't the boss to be fought; he's just there as set dressing for your fight against the summons and effort to attune to the aether.

If something is that tough, you're probably not supposed to be fighting it at all.
