Rank your Beast Tribes from best to worst

Namazu is the best. Not only they are a hilarious bunch, they are all (well, so far for me at least) in the Azim Steppe, so you get to hear that ear-pleasing music while you're doing them. I like Dwarves too, they're funny, and the quests are all in one map which is quite compact and you have two teleport stones east and west, so it's pretty breezy.

The worst is Sylph. So many 'do it while you're invisible' crap, and if you're like me doing it in level appropriate character, the amount of annoying enemies targeting you in that cramped space when you're trying to do objectives can be very maddening.

Ixali is annoying too because you have to equip a specific piece of armor when doing it and the later quests require you to move to other maps like Coerthas or Mor Dhona.

Vanu-vanu--I like the story quests, but the grind can be immeasurably boring due to how vast the map is and how the quests tend to make you go from corner to corner.

1. Dwarves- I get a tank, more time with Giott and Lyna and the quests don't take so much damn travelling. Right next to an aetheryte as well.
2. Moogles- For the sole reason I get to slap one, browbeat them etc into doing things and I'm in the right the entire time :3 it makes my dictator side pioneered in Tropico and Dwarf fortress very happy
3. Kojin- Tsukamo was funny at times, and I always like the Blue
4. Qitari- friendly and straightforward, being able to choose the story was good, i just wish you could see the options you didn't choose
5. Ixal- quite a sweet story with the occasional funny moment, and I enjoyed the link to azys la. Bonus points for being great exp source back in ARR days and able to spend 4 not 3 daily allowances from the get go, minus points for some utterly atrocious penalties to crafting and having to go places

joint 6th Vath and Namazu. Some good moments but disappointing overall. 3/10 would rather stick the latter in some buuz and have more dragon quests in the former

joint 7th Sahagin and Vanu. At least these guys have some nice rewards. I did ignore the Sahagin straight off since they still pray for leviathan to come drown limsa (and my cottage) and I ignored the vanu as I found their early quests annoying and their zone is awful

joint last Amalja, Sylphs Kobolds. I felt more insulted than anything when interacting with these. I felled ifrit and I only start at neutral? You're letting this annoying upstart take credit for my work? You expect me to do everything for these kobolds that refuse to help themselves? I am not a housemaid!

I love beast tribes!!! I’m max with all and put tons of thought into this.. here’s my tier list.

1. Ananta Love you sssso much Alpa my bff <3
2. Kobolds, Kojin, Ixals, Nazamu
3. Sahagin, Dwarves, Qitari, Pixies, Gnath
4. Amaalja, Sylph, Vanu Vanu
5. Moogles

1. Stormblood
2. ARR
3. SHB
4. Heavensward

ARR quests are more archaic but the tribes have so much character. HW wasn’t good for beast tribes, Moogles were terrible and took me a while to warm to Vanu Vanu. Stormblood was the perfect mix of quests and character, and Alpa is the best. SHB has been nice but perhaps too simple quests and predictable storytelling. Feels a bit safe. But generally it’s good.

For ARR -

Sahagin > Amaljaa > Kobolds > Sylphs.

For Heavensward -

Vanu Vanu > Gnath - While stipulated to be Beastmen, I don't consider Moogles Beastmen.

For Stormblood -

Kojin > Ananta > Namazu - I like comedy as much as anybody, but I preferred the serious stories, and I also prefer combat oriented quests.

For Shadowbringers -

Qiqirn by default, as they are the only actual Beastmen. The other two aren't Beastmen.

Sahagin had the most interesting storyline imo

For the most part though they blend together for me. There hasn't been a beast tribe questline that I finished and thought "wow that was an amazing little bit of story telling". They are much better than the job quests, but still feel like an after thought for the writers.

Sylphs I loathe simply do to their dailies being the most tedious with all the pod carrying and just badly designed quests and the Fae I hated do to the cutesy, candy land aesthetic. I skipped all fae cs after like the second rank cause it was just a vomit inducing level of sugary cuteness. I know it makes a lot of ppl go "awwww so adorable I will love you forever" but all things kawaii seem to have the opposite effect on me. Makes me wanna punch them and burn their candy cane village to the ground.
