    I very much agree with your statement.
    To be frank there are some spells of tanks and heals that I don't know the name of, cause it's just "oh that's the Medica" or "oh that's the Circle of Fate" And I put it on the same spot in the bar. There is flavor in the visuals and thematics of the spells, but gameplay wise they feel really close. Well, closer to each other than DPS are for sure.

    As for DPS, I concur they were streamlined a lot indeed, I have in mind NIN (but it was welcome 5.0 design was flawed), MCH.
    And Monk is going even further in that direction (on the + side it will be a smooth rotation, on the - side well...same gameplay for 7 years.)

    We have to acknowledge they were given SO. MUCH. SHIT. in the past (myself included) on tank balance in the past. In their defense they tried to correct that, but they took the "easy" way (with very similar gameplay, it's hard to lack balance so...). I heard they were only 4 on job design for 17 jobs (new skills) + new jobs : Hire up Square ! What are you waiting for ?

    Job gameplay is something heavily scrutinized, a definite point of attention for experienced MMO players that can make or break a game rep ! Look how many people outside of FF ticked at the 2.5 sec GCD and you have to tell them it's faster in endgame all the f time ; that's how you see gameplay is essential to attractiveness / unattractiveness from an outsider viewpoint. And Job design plays a big part in gameplay.
