Anyone else used Scenario skip on their first character?

I just find it fun to have everything unlocked and picking my own goals. I love finding out things myself which the skip is amazing for.

I'm having a hard time picturing what things you would be "finding out for yourself" that the story would otherwise have told you, that you avoided specifically by using the skip, without going back and catching up on the story.
