Why would there ever be a crossover if Cyberpunk 2077 isn't even out? Add to that the fact that the whole theme clashes with FFXIV. Witcher saga could have more chance and, even then, it would a very slim chance, since that venue was already taken with Monster Hunter Online and the whole down-to-earth setting and less flashy fight style doesn't fit with FFXIV.

Noone was talking about CDPR until that game really and all of a sudden they are the best company ever. Yes they may have done some good things compared to EA and 2K but they still crunched and still lied so they aren't really any better then most companies. But this is my opinion. I find that game and company to be highly over rated. I can name tons of games with way better gameplay then Witcher's 3 floatly weak combat. - Any of the Devil may cry games.. even the DMC donto one and Both Bayo games. Metal gear rising.... - so just saying. This is just my thoughts by the way. Just to clear the air.
I mean, all those games you compared Witcher 3 are a whole different genre, one which is heavily focused on fast-paced combats to begin with. Of course TW3 would feel slow if your whole reference are hack-and-slash, since TW3 is, first and foremost, a RPG. And from what you state about the story, it doesn't give much of the impression you've taken many detours.

All in all, sounds more like an issue you have with western RPGs more than the game itself, issue that comes from judging them under the same criteria than action-oriented games, which seems the ones you came from before playing TW3, and expecting things games of that genre don't really aim towards.
