    From a friend:
I can see the official emails from SE:
Dear subscriber, please pick one house, the rest are history. Sincerely, SE.

Ps that's what you get for being greedy.

You're looking at two different types of housing. There are personal houses for alts, which can no longer be purchased since 2018. SE already decided to grandfather these, and is unlikely to reverse the decision. There are also alt-FCs, which any account can currently acquire 8 total of. SE has hesitated to disallow acquiring additional FCs, in the event they do, I doubt they will remove FCs or FC housing that already exists and is being actively used.

When housing was first launched it was 5 wards (no sub-wards) in 3 zones. That means 450 houses total. Now we have 5,760. In the past 2 years alone, housing expanded from 3 zones to 4, and from 12 wards to 24.

Actually, this is how I would see the letter:

    Dear [enter player name],
Unfortunately due to the limited amount of housing, we have to ask you to relinquish and extra plots you have. We will compensate you the amount you paid in full and ask that you choose a plot to keep. We are deeply sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

    Sincerely,
    [Enter Dev Name]

Sounds more professional and actually helps the problem. And they can still take them and change their stance as they see fit. Instead of having to work around the people who bought up all the houses, just take them back first allowing for other players to fill the wards. And T bh I think you underestimate the greed cause I'm also positive people bought multiple games and took over extra plots as well making that 8 go even higher. But take the extra's away and then you put on a world limit and there you go. Saves a lot of problems and helps others to be able to purchase a house. And I started at launch but took a break before the release of the housing. But I came back 2 weeks after its release. Subdivision has always existed but yes there were only 5 wards. Then upped to 12, then 18, then to 21 then current. So I'm off by 2. Either way, the amount of houses purchased by either dead FC's, never been FC's and alts is ridiculous and should be addressed. SE is just allowing it to continue because they dont want backlash from those who are doing it. But they need to grow a pair, and just do it.

ait.and before anybody says anything about how much they paid in items, housing prices dropped substantially since 2018 so getting paid in full would allow them enough to by another house and get items back that they lost. But they wouldnt be able to because they have a limitation on how many they can buy.

Well just did a search and subdivisions got introduced in patch 2.4
just have a quick search for patchnotes .

And no taking houses away is not reasonable, compensation in full for a house is impossible. How do you put a value on time spent on the house? Put a value on decorating items that can no longer be used since not enough space to place.
Taking housing away from people that have legally bought them is a bad move no matter how you look at it and it would create bad publicity
