It's meh, especially since it's all just a video game. I used to play Archeage and friending/defriending was all one sided. And that was a pvp game with body blocking and you actually steal stuff from people.
It is very apparent that I'm trying to prevent more of these occurences from happening to other players by encouraging new prevention measures. Maybe some of you missed the part where I said I could care less about what my stalker does anymore; however that still doesn't excuse their actions. If anything, I hope they see my posts and recognize that I'm only empowered by their actions to help others.
I have a stalker both in game and on the forums. I don’t know if it’s the same person, but one time I posted on here (the forums) about someone imitating my character, which is supposed to be direct violation of the terms of service, my forum stalker said my “proof” of someone stalking me was “flimsy.”
I have told my forum stalker years ago I blocked them and they continue to follow me around on the forums saying negative things like that constantly.
Aside from people imitating my characters in game, I have had literal stalkers.
Once during an in-game event I saw someone who I already had been following me around before, standing off in the distance staring at me/my character.
The only thing that really irritates me is forum stalker and the character imitation. I can deal with someone just following me around cause there are numerous places you can go that others can’t follow.
Someone using my name (Which literally only exists by my creation, this name is not found anywhere else at all) and also copying my previous character’s appearance, names day and guardian is literally supposed to be a violation.

The world isnt that nice of a place to only show you good things, and sometimes you need someone blunt and bad to point things out you usually wont see at first glance. If you have personal issues in real life then get those fixed in real life and keep your personal buisness for yourself when you are ingame, people play this game to have fun, not to be drawn into personal matters just because one or two persons have a bad time. sure, it sounds cruel, but i find it equally cruel to force Developers to make large changes into a game, just because of a handful of people cant deal with some random people following them.
-anymore- and yeah i do care that SE didnt do anything. That SE didnt do anythingggg. Additionally, SE encourages players to report as instances occur; im not sorry as I fail to see how relying on the people in authority to handle this situation is a problem. Again, if there were preventions in place, these kind of problems wouldnt have occured for SE or myself... so yeah, I stand dedicated to drawing attention to the fact that this game needs more tactics to handle this sort of thing.

I cant help but wonder if the people who are against this thread are people who abuse the current system and are scared to lose it. If youre not being stalked or harassed, I fail to see how prevention tactics will change game play for you-that is unless youre the one who abuses the system.

So after over 100 tickets you suddenly chose to stop caring, but still managed to care enough to post in the forums about this and post on several other websites, hoping to catch Square Enix's attention? I'm not trying to sound mean but you're not fooling anyone. It is clear that you deeply care about this issue otherwise you wouldn't have harassed the support staff for months on end over an issue that can't even be considered harassment.-anymore- and yeah i do care that SE didnt do anything. There's a reason why your over 100 tickets don't lead to anything. A person's character simply hanging around is not harassment. This is an MMORPG. If you want to be alone then close down your FC house or hide in an inn. If you don't like someone leaving messages on your FC Message book then close it down. It's not hard. There are tools in place to deal with these kinds of issues. You just aren't using them.

I'm against the harassment of support workers. I work in a support role and deal with "Karen-esque" behavior all the time. It infuriates me. Flooding the queues with reports over a nonsense issue should be a suspendable offense in my opinion. It has nothing to do with me advocating for "stalkers" or anything like that. There are actual issues that actually impact gameplay in a negative way, such as the serious bot problem this game has... and I can't help but feel that real problems get ignored because support is too busy dealing with nonsense tickets all day long.I cant help but wonder if the people who are against this thread are people who abuse the current system and are scared to lose it. If youre not being stalked or harassed, I fail to see how prevention tactics will change game play for you-that is unless youre the one who abuses the system.
