Morningstar above makes a good point. Eureka you at last had to do Eureka, if I remember correctly. I'm pretty sure people complained about that. I suppose this is what we get with the combination of fan feedback, and SE recycling content constantly.

Just so happened that this content which encouraged veteran players to populate Heavensward zones came out about the same time as the expansion of the Free Trial to cover all the Heavensward zones, making it easier for Free Trial players to complete fates and be exposed to vets who can speak to what else the game has beyond the Free Trial. Hmm...
Castrum should reward 5 each of the memories and 2 of the greens ones. Along with 100 coins. Honestly after maxing my level in a couple of days I’ve seen it all. All the fates and all the fights. There’s not much content there. Chasing weapons seems to be the only reason, but why make it so boring and long? How many times do I need to fight the same fate to say, “yeah, I get it.”
Please buff everything maybe add more things to do per weapon or add a horizontal grind for our weapons and gear.
Not even, since HW fates are faster and with a 100% chance of rewards + no need to be an instanced area with death penalties etc...
Just did my other relics that way, Bozja has litteraly 0 content in it ( that's why Castrum will be required for the next step )
I've hated Eureka's design, but i didn't think they would go to the other extreme for DhB

Eh.
I'll take fun content where you have to use your brain (in some of the FATEs anyway) over the min-max route any day.
When you read this forum you'd be forgiven to think that having fun is an alien concept to XIV players. lol
Well, the problem with Bozja when you think about it, it's that it's not fun content, when you look at what it is in the end, it's also JUST fate grinding but for LESS chances of getting a reward, so it's normal people are choosing the easiest way between too identical things
( i would love to get fun content as well instead of fates don't get me wrong )

This guy gets it. It was done to revitalize old content.Just so happened that this content which encouraged veteran players to populate Heavensward zones came out about the same time as the expansion of the Free Trial to cover all the Heavensward zones, making it easier for Free Trial players to complete fates and be exposed to vets who can speak to what else the game has beyond the Free Trial. Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]
For me it was more like "I can't even make it to rank 10 because I fall asleep 15mins after entering the instance."
I loved Eureka for a long time. I did a LOT of it with friends. This new content is to much like Eureka 2.0 and I can't stand it. I have completed 8 weapons already all via HW fates.
Every now and then i found it relaxing to just mow through mobs and spawn fates, its actaully a nice side content and we should always have it as some side stuff...
But castrum... today I tried with an fc mate for his first time, i was bottom and he went up... we were 15/12 so enough... in theory... we wiped at the first fight bc when bottom was done, the others still had like 30% left so we enraged... sooo, echo when?
Actively trying to complete Castrum for a few days and this last pop we had 16 people signed up, up until another critical engagement appeared and everyone withdrew because that's so much more profitable than helping a late-comer clear mandatory quest progression content. They're all happily farming coins outside the dungeon much more efficiently, why the hell would they bother?
I can not believe that Square Enix doesn't have some statistics somewhere that show that out of 100 pops of the instance, around 99 haven't even been attempted and the remaining 1% failed for lack of participants. Surely they can look up the actual figures on their server data somehow. It's insane.
