Castrum is already the best coin income assuming it's up.
You aren't going to earn 25ish coins in skirmishes and CEs in the time it takes to do castrum.
It's also the only way to get certain fragments.

While it would be nice to see it get further rewards, right now all you gotta do is show people it's worth it to go in there still.

You can get the fragments for the relic weapon outside bozjan from certain area's from fates. 100% drop rate

They meant the <Forgotten Fragments of (x)>, not the memories. Castrum has many exclusive fragments locked behind it (the deep essence abilities, for example.)
