Back when parties were capped at 16 people, the F-keys obviously didn't provide enough buttons to target everyone in the party, so they just kinda half-assed it and only let you target party members up through F6. Once they adjusted the maximum party size, they also adjusted the F-keys BUT not for anyone who was already playing the game (they didn't want to change anyone's existing keybinds).

I ran into this issue many months ago, so I can only help you with the way I fixed it, but if you're willing to temporarily lose any custom keybinds you've already set, you can do this.

• First, take note of any custom keybinds that you've set up until this point -- you're about to reset the keybinds
• Go to Main Menu > Configuration > Keyboard
• Select the "Type A" button and select "Yes"

At this point, your keyboard settings will be set to the NEW standards, which include F-targetting for all party members 1 through 8. The controls are almost completely identical to how they were back at launch, the biggest (only?) change is with the F-key binds.

• Re-add any custom keybinds you had set in the past.

At this point, you're done, so the rest of this post is just informative...

• Select the "Targetting" tab and scroll down to the bottom

As well as setting F1~F8, you'll also notice a few other useful keys
- F9 - Target last enemy to attack you
- F10 - Target nearest enemy
- F11 - Target nearest PC
- F12 - Target nearest NPC
I find these binds to be immensely helpful, so I leave them as-is.

Personally, the only custom keybinds I set are Other > Mount/Dismount Chocobo (PgUp) and Mount/Dismount Goobue (PgDn).

I hope that helps!
