[Mod Request] Hide THREADS entirely via Ignore List

Pretty simple really; I can add people to my ignore list and when I am browsing, should they make a post, it just shows the generic "you're ignoring this person, wanna see the post anyway?", right?

..so is it possible to just not have threads made by certain people even show up while I browse?

TBH, I wouldn't even want to see that they posted something. E.G. ignoring a person completely erasing their existence of my sight. :P

I doubt there's a way to completely hide a topic just because it was started by a certain poster short of moderators removing the topic altogether.

It's also not going to help you when the troll starts posting from yet another account.

Just scan and skip. The troll topics tend to stand out like a sore thumb thanks to their titles even before you glance down to see who started it. If it's got an idiotic title, it's not worth your time.

If posters didn't react to the troll bait, it would disappear much faster.

While I'm not targeting anyone specific like you or your many accounts, some people don't want to see them and should have the ability to not have junk posts clog up their forum. Some trolls are funny, some not so much.

It's also not going to help you when the troll starts posting from yet another account.

It is, because it'll just be a 1 click to ignore. I highly doubt trolls will be making new accounts at a level where I can't keep up with ignoring them.

It's a basic feature on most forum hosts. Either they block said threads entirely, or they'll show "this topic/post was posted by a blocked user. Display anyway?" I don't see why they couldn't add it, but at the same time FFXIV's forums haven't been updated (or moderated) since... the beginning of its existence.
