Also it seems my post saying reports don't work was deleted, so I will repeat: we have been reporting for weeks and months and it hasn't worked yet.

No I'm saying that it's bad if you literally ignore issues and pretend everything is a perfect dream world, even if it's to your own detriment. Or worse, you try to justify jank design because your favorite game can't do no wrong.Getting the wrong advice isn't great, but are you seriously saying it's a negative for a board about a video game - something you play to have fun - might be populated by people who enjoy the game as it is right now instead of constantly complaining and/or lobbying to change it?
This forum's balance of fans and complaints has always seemed like the anomaly to me. Most people I know from FCs and Discords are just enjoying the game.
What actually makes it bad to "ignore" issues that don't bother you or detract from your personal enjoyment of the game? If you like it as it is, then there isn't anything to ignore in the first place. It's just a different person's opinion on the game.
In most fandoms I've been in, it's those people who do like the game as it is, with whatever flaws it has, that stick around and form the community. It's not seen as a failing to actually like something as it is just because it could somehow be improved.
They just want attention. Don't give it to them. Reddit is...meh. I post in other venues there but the FFXIV reddit is pretty mediocre IMO. A good place for getting a question answered but for discussion, I'll always come here first.
If you want to 'fight' trolls, then Post about things. Discuss. Right now they are the ones keeping this forum active by sheer shenanigans alone. We're in a bit of a lull right now but it's like the ads in Party Finder. If more people used it for the categories the ad spammers used (like Expert etc) then we'd see less ads there because they'd just get mixed in with other listings and the point of mislabeling would be moot.
So make them posts. Choke em out. Or just ignore them and continue to enjoy the game; dismissing their less than substantial addition to the discussion.
There's a theme of lacking understanding that not everyone "has" to dislike the thing you dislike or to the level you dislike it.
For example, the Mogstation.
People make it seem like you're a boot licking sheep for not hating the mogstation. Same for Eureka or non-combat content in general given that that's been a big source of new content this expac.
TBH I think a number of people only post here so that they can whine about the things they dislike, where as sites like reddit or FB groups or Discords or blah blah blaaahs are populated by mostly people who like the game and just want to talk about it and share stuff.
(Also another good thing about other sites is that you don't have to put up with troll stuff cause you can call out people for "isms" or troll stuff without getting banned. Good FB groups are willing to flat out ban people for non-sense trolling, helps keep a good community around)
I agree with you, but to be fair: SE isn’t looking at your Discord or FB posts (probably in the case of the latter). If you want a chance to get heard, you’d come here.TBH I think a number of people only post here so that they can whine about the things they dislike, where as sites like reddit or FB groups or Discords or blah blah blaaahs are populated by mostly people who like the game and just want to talk about it and share stuff.

The mods are more likely to delete this post than the forum trolls posts. How sad is that?
Very sad indeed.
"Note: This is ONLY to be used to report spam, advertising messages, and problematic (harassment, fighting, or rude) posts."
And since trolling isn't considered "problematic" the mods don't see it as something to be removed even though they've received thousands of reports on the matter. It's pitiful really.
I'm finding it hilarious that there is a good chance the forum will keep making these threads and get them to dozens of pages, then it gets deleted. Then a week later someone makes another thread in the same vein and it gets to dozens of pages, and it gets deleted again. At this point the comedy is the inability to learn.
Ikr, I think it'll make it to 7 pages before hammer time.I'm finding it hilarious that there is a good chance the forum will keep making these threads and get them to dozens of pages, then it gets deleted.
