Same. He's one of the few that actually grows with the story. In the beginning, he might seems annoying, but later on, he really grows as a character, which is enjoyable.

seems to me the only person who lacks imagination is alphinaud since he cant imagine the WoL will ever deeply dislike him

At the start of the game (ie, level 1) both Alphinaud and Alisaie are 16 years of age.
