This game glamorizes war and romanticizes sadness. I don't need to explain why every other chapter is about war or loss. People want to see it. Should we give it to them, or is that unethical?

Is it ethical to keep making troll accounts, saying you'll quit and not doing so, or making troll threads constantly?
You choose to pay to play knowing what the game is about.

Not that you are actually serious, but without conflict there is no story. Thanks for playing. Goodnight!

You should look at the United States. If anyone romanticises war (especially back in Uncle Sam's day), it's US.
But honestly, it's not just FFXIV that romanticises war. It's not the first story or franchise to do so; it won't be the last. I also think FFXIV does a good job in showing us that war causes catastrophic damages to all people, innocent or not, and that all sides will have casualties. I don't think it's "bad" to do so, and I don't think it's "unethical" either. Today's society is walking on eggshells as far as what is ethical and what isn't, what is correct and what isn't. If it gets to the point where we can't even teach moral lessons or tell stories because of said "ethics," then we might as well get bleached out from The Flood. Too much "light" is not a good thing.
If FFXIV "glamorises" anything, it "glamorises" the importance and the effect of a single person has on the entire world and beyond: our character.
Quick fix: Everytime there's something war related in FFXIV, "Fortunate Son" plays in the background.
We did it. Now war is bad in FFXIV.
I hope you quit the game
