another "Head of the class" quest bug

whenever i speak to the quest NPC, the game just freeze, i can move the camera, but can't move or do anything, and it stays like this till i force quit.

according to what i've read on forums, this issue has been there for a {Long Time} now, more than 4 months, and it's not showing under the "Known Issues" section.

I'll poke my head in here before the GM locks it with the response of "We're aware of the issue and it is currently under investigation".

Open your journal and ignore what item the journal says to make. Instead, procure the items for the recipe it provides and craft whatever item that set of ingredients will make. Once you have 5 of that item, you can talk to the NPC that freezes you, and you will be able to continue. Since you didn't post what recipe ingredients you have, I can't tell you what you'll be making, but I'm sure you can figure it out.
