But that just means that wards will be even more lifeless than they already are. SE seriously needs to add more reasons for other to engage with one another with housing.
Sure, it would be nice if we had enough space. But it is what it is, I guess.
I mean, it doesn't help when the prior administration turned wearing masks into a political statement. All while refusing to wear them themselves.
"Stand in the ashes of a trillion dead souls and ask the ghosts if honor matters."
"The silence is your answer."
You all have to leak political shit into this. I don't get enough at work, social media, radio, etc., we have to have it in our FF14 too while we're at it.
Timers had nothing to do with potential regime changes in the USA. If there were any "regime" SE looked at, it was their own home country's regime.
Our government conditions us to put politics into everything. A divided populace is easier to control.
One additional note about tenants - while they can't reset the demo timer, the pending demolition will display in their Timers in addition to the owner's timers. If they have a way to contact the owner outside of game, they can remind the owner of the pending demolition in case the owner hasn't received the email notification.
This is true, but I think the timers should be more lax, like every 2 or 3 months. If someone does decide to take a long break, drop the game all together, or has died, it's unlikely they'll log in by the 3 month marker. But before then, it could just be a bad month or two financially, so they shouldn't go "punished" (for lack of a better word) for being unable to log in after just one or two months.
I won't be coming back to FFXIV's forums. The forum vibe is way too venomous and brings out the worst in me. I don't like who I am on the forums, so it's best to distance myself.
In ARR, the wards were very lively. Neighbouring FCs often being affiliates with one another and hosted joint events for holidays. Individuals and groups alike would also hang out, invite neighbours to weddings and other such things, and I remember even playing a game of hide-and-seek. It was quite a lot of fun, and fairly lively. But I think it also depends on the server. Each server pretty much has its own culture, in a way. I think this year, people have been fairly lively in the residential areas. But it could also be because of the player-orchestrated Halloween events and whatnot.
Here's hoping it goes back to being even more social, though!

On a related note, I am curious to see what the conditions in place will be for purchasing plots when the Firmament finally rolls out. In my own self-interest, I would be delighted if they simply treated all the new plots as freshly demolished, giving those with existing houses dibs.
I assume that's exactly what they will do. If they were to make it "FC's first" again then they should prepare for a complete shitstorm. On a related note, I am curious to see what the conditions in place will be for purchasing plots when the Firmament finally rolls out.
