Why are you a mentor then?Mentor Roulette puts me in MSQ duties fairly often, and I will dip out and find another game to play for 30 minutes every single time. Those instances simply fun for me. I'd rather chain wipe in Ramuh Ex with seven sprouts for an hour and get no rewards than do them one more time.
SE says the penalty for not accepting the duty I'm given is 30 mins of no other duties, and I'm more than happy to pay it. If SE implements a harsher penalty (say, a two hour lockout) then people will instead force themselves to disconnect and wait for vote kicks. Nothing would change, other than the remaining players being forced to vote kick people before being able to replace them.
It's not like the Mentor would be bringing invaluable knowledge to the content that the Sprouts would be wiping on for hours without.
Harsher Penalty? No
How about increasing the XP from Castrum? Yes
If someone wants to take a penalty that will last longer than it takes to clear the instance, that's their choice. They're also risking it will come up again when they're able to requeue, wasting even more of their time.
I have yet to see a Castrum group have problems just because 2-3 people ditch at the start. As long as there's one tank or one healer the group can still clear trash going down the hill as the group gets refilled, though at a slower pace than with both tank and healer still part of the group. Usually the group has refilled by the time you reach the bottom (unless you're playing extremely late at night or early in the morning). I've even cleared it in a group of 5 when the player left with party lead didn't want to requeue the group and deal with possibly more whining from whoever ended up joining. It didn't take that much longer since so much of the instances is still just running around as you get interrupted by cutscenes.
It's not a big deal. Don't stress over it.
