You wake up in Eorzea... What is your next step?

I was just daydreaming and started thinking, what if I woke up IN the game? Not as my character, but as me! (now that’s scary!) what would I do?

For me, the hunt is something I really enjoy, but god knows I have no actual irl skills that are currently useful in Eorzea! So I think that I would head to the Thaumaturge's Guild to begin my training as my beloved BLM, and begin to make a name for myself hunting down rare marks all over the planet. Some gambling at the Gold Saucer from time to time to unwind and a little fishing as a hobby.

There are so many other things I would love to do, but just can't think of them right now

I'd first rejoice and thank the Twelve for finally freeing me from the hell-hole prison-planet that is Earth at this point in history. Then like you, go and train at something. I main Ninja so I'd probably go and beg Yugiri for some in-depth training, while telling her how much I love her voice.

Nope, long walks everywhere!
But yes, attuning to aetherytes would absolutely be a priority!

I'd work for the botanist's guild.

I would do the normal botany stuff but on the side I would draw and paint plants for documentation.

Get a reputation for said artwork.

Become a full time artist.

Players eventually would buy my work to hang on their walls.

My dialogue would hint that I might know the world I'm in isn't real.

Become an obscure subject of third wall breaking lore.

At first I was thinking of going to a city state and staying there. My character is one thing, but the IRL me is a weakling coward, so I´d try to live a normal life, then I began thinking about them and...
Gridania: Maybe the best option, but if you aren´t accepted by the Twelve good luck with getting something as simple as basic medicine.
Limsa Lominsa: Although from an OOC perspective it seems like a fun city, so many pirates together, even reformed ones, can lead to no good.
Ul´dah: You are either a top dog or you live in the slums.
Ishgard: Same.
Shirogane: Could be a nice city, but it´s too close to imperial retaliation for comfort.
So, my best bet would be to join the Scions of the Seventh Dawn as a messenger, barman, or other non-life-risking job.

Hehe. I love this. First I'd seek a fantasia and turn to lala, then try to level up a but around Ul'Dah.. sneak out to either that little port in western Thanalan that had a little story line there about fending off the Syndicate, or vesper bay and settle down with a cute miqo lady. Yay Thanalan.

Lots of variables to consider. Assuming I start out at Limsa...

-> Attune to aetheryte -> Learn how to move aether so I can utilize it -> Go to Arcanist Guild -> Learn geometry and physick for healing and resurrection to save lives, have a pet carbuncle to help with ambushes -> Realize this is a dead path if I don't have the echo since SMN means I have to fight primals and SCH is pretty much impossible without finding a faerie that works-> become an academician and create my own spells-> Work with Rammbroes -> befriend G'raha Tia -> Survive 3 expansions worth of content and be productive -> Maybe become a Marauder/Rogue -> Befriend Godbert to secure my life using the secret dance of House Manderville-> Figure out whether I can ever get back home -> Realize Adventuring means I will probably never get housing unless I build my own house in some foreign district that only NPCs can have -> Figure out what to do with the situation -

1. Go find the WoL, befriend him, and giving him a quest to return me back home with the lucrative reward of a new ACN support skill I made up as an Academician (cause blue quests are worth doing), or maybe receive help from Y'shtola once she finds a way to the First so I can borrow the teleportation device to a one - way trip back to home with the Exarch's help ... unless I bring an aetheryte stone :>
2. Realize I can't go back home because I can't get the coordinates of this place and because of the 5.3 ending, so I find a nice Hrothgar to settle down with in Bozja for the rest of my life and live happily ever after, assuming I survive the battle in Bozjan Front
3. I somehow end up becoming relevant to the plotline and have to help the WoL due to ingame knowledge of events that will come to pass.
